I've probably made a couple threads regarding this, but I'm still unsure...

Processor - I currently have a Core 2 Duo 6320, and I'm eyeing the Phenom II 965. How big of an upgrade will this be?

Motherboard - some recommendations would be nice (I want to reuse my DD2 RAM if possible).

PSU. Something reliable for $70, is this possible? It needs to run a 9800 GT, and have room for a new video card for the future. I'm thinking of getting a 5850.

Case – Nothing fancy, no stupid lights or anything of the sort. Just need a decent sized case with good cooling.

Help me out? I'm pretty bad at picking this stuff out.

If you go with an AMD phenom II get a 955 and change the multiplier to 17. It's the same exact thing as a 965 only 50$ cheaper. If you go with AMD get an nvidia 980 chipset if you have an nvidia GPU. DDR2 is passe. Move on to DDR3. PC Power & Cooling makes good PSUs.

You didn't actually recommend or say anything to answer the question.

Anyways, im assuming the AMD is a quad? it will be a big jump regardless, As for the others, do you havea price range?

It is the fastest AMD quad (excluding Opterons) at the moment, so yeah ;) I think even an Athlon II X2 would be a big jump. Also, get AM3+DDR3 really, no point in keeping with AM2+ if you don't already have an AM2+ mobo. I would suggest something like my mobo or M4A79T Deluxe. OCZ and Corsair are good brands for RAM.

^Nearly $200 for a motherboard? That's pretty darn expensive, I was looking to spending around $700 on upgrades. I already have a video card and a HDD, and could reuse my old CD/DVD trays. I was thinking a good motherboard would cost me around $100, any suggestions? And if I have to upgrade to DDR3 RAM, I suppose I will...

A good mobo should be at least $100.

Get your self the following if your bugdet is lowish: -AMD Phenom II 955 -Gigabyte MA790X UD3P -2x4GB DDR2 8500 (kingston HyperX or OCZ Platinum) -Case with out a doubt the coolermaster CM-690 -Corsair VX 550 or OCZ ModXStream 600w The case will fit any current GPU and the powersupplys listed are more than enough to run a single HD 5870. I would also recommend a better CPU cooler the ones I would recommend are: -Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer -Titan TTC Fenrir -Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 Also I would like to add that it wouldn't cost you that much extra going to DDR3 and the boards I board and ram I recommend for someone on a bugdet are listed below. -Asus M4A785TD-V Evo AMD 785G -Patriot G Series AMD 2x2GB 1333MHz DDR3 or OCZ Platinum 2x2GB 1333MHz DDR3 Im sure you should have plenty left over from the $700.
