[QUOTE="AMD655"] Well, that means every review for CPU performance in Skidrim is all wrong, as they are all the damn same...hartsickdiscipl

I watched that review months ago.  That guy is a massive D-bag who uses terrible testing methodology to draw false conclusions.  He doesn't know what he's doing.

Aren't you the tinfoil hat space aliens guy?

Get a i7 4770K and a Z87 board... Keep the ram and the rest of your setup. Get a HD 9950/9970 when they come out.

How so? I like how people are throwing crap at him with nothing to back it up.

He uses a terrible selection of games for his tests.  He uses settings that introduce GPU bottlenecking, which is the worst possible way to test CPUs.  His results are invalid.  There are even mismatches between what he says and what is shown onscreen at a couple of points in the video.  There have been multiple people who responded to his video with their own tests using the 3570k, and their results are markedly different.

Bottom line- His testing methodology is garbage, his game selection is garbage, his results are completely inconsistent with what dozens of other reputable reviewers came up with.

Yup. It's a shame, Logan is a pretty cool guy. I liked him on Tiger Direct.

That review was done way after the 1.4 patch.

The whole reason he decided to test was because he thought the 8350s were crap because of all the idiots on the internet.  He then messed around with one and realized that everybody was full of shit.  One of the main reasons he gets different results is because he has more than just the game running when he benchmarks in the first video.

Also the videos that "disprove" him are beyond stupid.  In one that they use a "3570k" they are actually using a 3770k.

Yeah the professional reviewers do stupid things like use slow ram, the FX series thrives on faster memory.

Which is more feasible?  They use slow ram on accident because they are stupid or they use slow ram on purpose because they get paid to?

FX is not an APU, it does not thrive off faster memory at all, and all test kits were done on the highest end ASUS Maximus IV boards from AMD.

I certainly don't think that the 8350 is crap.  I don't think anybody is saying that.  However, Logan's methodology is completely improper for testing CPUs.  Therefore, his results are nearly meaningless.  The fact is that we already have dozens of reviews from reputable sources, which all seem to paint the picture that the 3570k/3770k (we all know the difference in gaming performance is negligible) are significantly better gaming CPUs.

That's all there is to be said.  Logan's game selection was bad, his testing methodology was terrible for testing CPUs, and his results are more than suspect for these reasons.

Do some research before you spread ignorance.

There is a 5% increase in performance going from 1600mhz ram to 2133 mhz ram.

Most reviews looked at the FX series using 1333 mhz ram.  That is artificially handicapping the performance for no good reason.

This is the most hilarious shit i have read in a long while. 5% for all CPU's, not just FX, and 5% is around 2 FPS.
