upgrading for bioshock /future

hey guys, wanna upgrade the ole puter since i havent done so in bout 3 years,, now i have amd64 4000+, 1gig DDR3200ram, geforce 6600gt 128mb... just bought bioshock and WOW, i get like 10 frames per sec on lowest settings LOL. i need some opinions tho. upgrade i plan to buy soon will be as follows.. AMDx2 6000+, 2gigs DDR2800, geforce 8800gt 512mb. should that run bioshock and other recent games decently? tell me what i should change... Thanks!!

You dont need to change anything, you need to get new system thou you can use some parts such as monitor, HDD or optical drives to short out the expenses.
Honestly, your system sounds hell old and weak for sure but i'd not upgrade and get anew PC just for 1 game as many people are doing now just for Crysis and they still cant max it up.
If you think that you need anew pc anyway, then let us know about your budget and what parts you can use from the old pc.
