Currently use a e4500 2.2 intel core 2 duo, Should I start thinking about changing it to something like AMD 1090t phenom x6 ( considering the fact that i was planning on getting more rams and newer ddr3 rams are sooo cheap, also means a new MOBO)

Does it worth it? Current mobo runs via DDR2 and I have problems upgrading to 4/6gb for some reasons, it makes me wanna quit and get newer gear.

Recently bought 600w PSU and Radeon HD 6850

(I bought 2x2gb sticks but i tried my best to make them work same time, it won't, So here I am now. I can get credit from them but the computer shop only as those as ddr2 ( and 2x1gb which I might try before going for an upgrade.)

Considering the fact that I'll have something like 80bucks credit with my 2 memory sticks and I can't really buy other stuff from them, it's an option to start thinking about upgrading other parts of my pc, but this is now leading me there. To upgrading MOBO/CPU...

So, in case I have this 80 bucks laying around and there is no more possible options, should I go new CPU/Mobo?

You aren't going to get any thing decent with $80. unless your budget is at least around $180.

Oh I know, I meant to purchase stuff higher price but I didn't wanted to have 80$ laying around and have nothing to do with it, I know that it would cost a lot of money. :)

O :P Getting a quad core will do some good and you can pick up DDR 3 which very cheap $25 for 4gb and 8gb for $50.

I didn't break the bank and I bought a FX-6100 hex-core, which helps out tremendously compared to the dual core I was used to. I think it was only $179. I haven't overclocked it and I don't know if I will. It's 3.3ghz out of the box and comes with a core boost feature, which boost the performance for gaming. Not bad for the $$.Not a I7 but still good.

ignore many of the recommendations here. TC you can do pretty good by your system for a decent price. here i what i would do. i would first try and find out what motherboard i have :P next i would discover if you have core 2 quad cpu support. if you do i would then try and find one for sale on amazon or ebay or if the price is right; tigerdirect.com

avoid cragslist unless your certain you have a good deal.

alternatively you could do what some folks recommended save up like 180 and get yourself a phenom fx-4100 or phenom II x6 1045t

Just buy a decent AM3+ mobo with $80 and spend about $100 for a decent amd quad core ( fx4100 ). You already have a good Gpu and a decent power supply
