in my rig i got
athlon 3400+ 2.4ghz
1 gb 333mhz ram
radeon x1950 pro 512mb

i just bought the video card and now running games at a pleasent framerate (cs:s, fear, etc) but i keep getting these hiccups/stutters when playing, now if i upgraded my ram to 2gb 400 mhz, would that help get rid of all these hiccups/stuters in my framerate?

Depends on the games, but I doubt it - few games really take advantage of more than 1GB of RAM right now.

that's a lie, most of new games will use more than 1024mb but not more than about 1200mb so upgrading to 2gb should help

Do you have vertical sync enabled on your options for the games? I think having it enabled can cause stutters/tearing.

Not worth upgrading to 2gb RAM because when you will change your CPU and mobo you will need DDR2. So I advice you to up upgrade up to 1.5Gb only

Dual-Channel is not a slot, it's a way two equal sticks of RAM operate to give increased memory bandwidth.
