That's not possible. Sorry, but this is bull. You can't have that much gold, there's a limit at like 45,000 or something.

[QUOTE="Meska2"]Who in there right mind spends $40k on gaming currency?
like...not only is it a waste because hes going to get banned
but also..think of all the other games he could have spend it on instead of that one.

Games? Who would spend 40 grand on games?

You could buy a really nice car for 40 grand, or pay off a good part of a house or condo. Seriously. What an R TARD!

In the article, Jake said he already owns a couple of properties and he's not into cars. This guy much be rich or close to it. I don't see this as a strange thing to spend money on anymore than these rich people who buy sets of expensive golf clubs, jewelry, watches, expensive clothes & shoes, or drinks at some "hip club".

A question about this guy getting banned: How can it be proven that he paid real money for WOW currency? The article says that the money was split between 5 character, so it's not like one character all of a sudden received 1 million gold. It would be pretty funny if he does get banned.

Within a few days the deal was done and Jake was on his way to being what must certainly be the only World of Warcraft millionaire on the planet… though he'll have to spread the wealth over atleast 5 characters as the currency limit for a single player (only ever acheived twice before in the game's history) is just over 210,000 Gold.Article

They would notice if five of his accounts suddenly made that much gold in one day.

Ok. I'm thinking this guy must have some sort of plan or something. Why else would he spend $40,000 if it's going to get him banned? Then again, maybe he's a fool.
