wen u get higher dpi mices, they use usb because its faster respond rate... using a converter will slow it down.TSIllusion
Mine has got 800DPI if I'm correct. I believe it is fast and accurate enough. I used to have a 2000DPI mouse and I hated it, but that's just my opinion.
First off, the only thing that average gamer needs to be concerned with on USB vs PS2 mice are the sample rates. Since a PS2 mouse can have a sample rate of 200 there is no real difference on the more common standard USB mice. If for example you looking at one of the more exotic RAZOR brand of mice then you will not want to use the PS2 adapter as it was made to really take advantage of the faster sample rates that are available. Then again, if you really want to pay a couple of hundred for a mouse and then cripple it then so be it. Other than that, between 100 and 200 sample rates (set in the advanced mouse settings under the control panel) you will not see a difference. The PS2 adapter is for those who dont have access to a USB slot for various reasons. I for example use one because I use a more stable and older model KVM switch that does not accecpt USB. So unless you spend more than $100 on a mouse you really wont see any improvement with either USB or PS2 and you should feel free to use which ever one leaves you with an open port.
