Vote here.

A tough decision seeing as BioWare has created some of the best RPGs in history. Off the top of my head I can think of the KoTOR, Baldur's Gate, Jade Empire, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect series. While Valve produced the genre defining Half-Life, and continues to show their quality work through HL2 + Episodes, Portal, and their continual community support of Team Fortress 2, and not to forget their creation of Steam.

I think I am going to go with Valve on this one, as much as I enjoy BioWare games, admittedly the only BioWare game I've played is Mass Effect and I enjoyed the hell out of it. I will be playing their other games eventually.

My reason for picking Valve is due to their continual support for the community, which earns huge points in my book, because of other developer's attitudes of sell and forget. Also, because of their creation of Steam, the pinnacle of digital download services, and it will only become better in the future.

I made the poll to see what the thoughts of the gamers here are and where your loyalties lie.

I chose BioWare in that poll, so I voted Bioware again here but it was a hard decision. I love both devs so much.

I love BioWare, but it's Valve all the way. The best single-player FPS series ever (Half-Life) + the best multiplayer game ever (Team Fortress 2) + Portal + Steam (the most important thing to happen to PC gaming in the past decade). Not really such a tough decision when you look at it. :P

Vote valve and we get a steam sale!!!!!

also valve has done more to contribute to gaming

-steam (so awesome)

-DD

-Source

-Half Life series

-Cloud Gaming

-Automatic Updates (this is actually a big deal for me)

-comprehensive online catalogue

-steam sales

-awesome community

-continual updates on old franchises (tf2)

-they listen to the gamers!

however Bioware is still an awesome dev, its good to see 2 best devs who deserve the respect make it to the finals

Bioware all the way. Really amazing company and I have never been let down by them. Valve has let me down as of late. L4D2 comes to mind.

Both developers are great in their own way. They both made their fair share of superb games that will be played for a long time. My vote went to Valve. I found their games more enjoyable, but Bioware is still one of the most talented developing teams I've seen.

Based strictly on their games and not letting Steam influence my decision, I went with Bioware because I prefer RPGs over FPS.

VALVE loses solely due to STEAM. Digital Restrictions Management is illegal HERE in the usa, so even if it were VALVE versus Satan, Valve would still LOSE.

Oh, its you again? Funny thing is that you posted the exact same thing on System Wars, so I'll do the same thing here. ;] DRM is not illegal here in the US. If it were, Steam would have been taken down a long time ago. This is one of the most idiotic statements I have ever seen. You really need to do more research before you start spouting out random BS.

Seeing as how this is an annual poll, I think it'd be best if we based our votes on their current influence over the industry as opposed to their past accomplishments. With that said, I feel Bioware has been much more active with higher quality titles than Valve as of late. Bioware has greater diversity in their current projects and is developing games on a larger scale than Valve's upcoming projects.

My vote goes to Bioware.

Valve all the way.. I like Bioware too.. but Half-Life 2 was soo good I bought in for my xbox 1, cause I had a terrible pc at the time, and played it to death.. even if the frame rate dropped to 7 when there was fire on the screen LOL. I also say Valve for STEAM! DUDE, steam is one of the greatest things I've seen that helps me get into pc gaming.. I got into pc gaming about a year or 2 ago.. and steam has defiantly helped my with my library of games with there incredible deals.. don't get me wrong I liked mass effect 2, but valve is and has changed gaming overall.. Bioware just comes out with amazing rpgs...

I could post LINK after link (but I'm afraid to. Maybe in my blog) which IN FACT shows District COURT cases which have ruled DRM illegal. See, many people confuse DRM with the First Sale Doctrine. I'm not here to hold YOUR hands. Do the research.

Valve made one good game (HL1) then crap, then TF2, then crap again. Bioware made excellent games until KOTOR, then crap, then Dragon Age, they kind of redeemed. So Bioware for me.

Sobeit I say, one of those cases of if Steam is illegal, I'm fine being a felon, specially with all these great sales!

You clearly don't put much thought into these bold claims of yours. If DRM were illegal, we wouldn't see it in so many games today. In fact, it would've been common knowledge with articles across all gaming websites.

Also, there is no DRM whatsoever when you purchase games off Steam. You're given a key for the game that can be used for digital and physical installations-- just as if you purchased it from the store. Any DRM you get in games are implemented by the developers.

Valve. Bioware has had some great games and done a lot for the rpg scene, but what have they done for me lately? The nickel and diming of Dragon Age and the mediocre gameplay overall have left a mediocre taste in my mouth.

Not sure how you can make this claim regarding quality level (both devs do a pretty good when it comes to polish), actually I would say Valve is superior to Bioware in the regard. ME and DA:O still both have polish issues IMO. As far as diversity goes, again not sure how Bioware edges Valve out? Is it because they have yet to be released MMO? Valve makes Single Player FPS and Multiplayer FPS, Bioware makes RPGs and Action RPGs and a soon to be released MMORPG. I don't see much "diversity" in either to be honest. Not that that is a bad thing.

Very tough decision. But I'll go with Valve. Because they made TF2. And TF2 is my favorite game of all time. But Bioware made the Mass Effect series, which is one of my favorite games! D:

I have voted for Bioware. However, I simply love both of the devs and making a choice was extremely hard... but this time vote went for Bioware (I have waited far too long for that pretty Episode 3 or whatevers it is going to be).

"Who is your favorite (PC) developer?" Blizzard. Between these two? Role playing games focused primarily on dialogue (snooze) vs first person shooters (double snooze). I'd put Firaxis above them even though all they have put out are games prefixed with "Sid Meier's". If it came to which games I personally enjoy I'd even put PopCap above them. Yes, I'm a sick person, I know. Anyway, I guess for me this comes down to KOTOR vs Portal. I suppose I'll go with KOTOR, mostly just because Portal was so short.

In last few years for me is Bioware those guys are so amazing, love their RPG, Valve...well is Valve, but i dont like so much their ways in the industry.
