I guess the developers did'nt want the players to beat it so quickly because half the game is traveling the waste land and you would avoid all the monsterskemar7856the bigger the better for me not fake maps eg like stalker or fable.. fallout 2 had a vehicle to move faster in map, but it was pretty expensive and required some parts to work, plus no fuel to fill it up, ehhmm yeah no need for vehicles...
I doubt after a nuclear war that cars would be able to drive considering the EMP that comes with a blast.Treflis
plus i imagine fuel is very short in the waste land, and it would destroy half the game if you can rush past all the mutants etc when you are exploring new places dan-rofl-copter
Suddenly realism counts in a game with robots, mutants, and all kinds of unreal stuff?
Idunno, I think vehicles would have been cool but fast travel is there for a reason. Still, a quad or motorbike would have been welcome. Hell, even a mutant horse or camel would have been sweet!

It seems that in the future, people can build giant robots but they can't fix a car.
Well, they may not have put any in the game but there is a mod that adds around five motorcyles to the game. I can't swear by it as I haven't tried it, but it's out there, and if you want to give it a try then have at it. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6005 Enjoy. Be warned, it uses the Fallout Script Extender (v1.1.8 at least) The original mod was made by VeliV and can be found here... http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3104 I don't own either of these and have not used either, but like I said, they are there if you want to give them a shot.JimmyJamTheElf
I tried the motorcycle mod when it was first released. It was very rough at the time but it worked. It wasn't worth keeping at that stage of development so I deleted it.

There are already mods for it.mirgamer
Yep. You can install a mod that gives you a driveable motorcycle. There's also a mod that gives you a helicopter. There are also rideable beast mods.

"Even in fantasy there is logic." :P Faraday Cage. Older cars without electrical start could still probably work. The 172 Cessna has an entirely self-sufficient (electrically) engine that could be hand cranked if the starter was damaged. I know this would still fly unless an EMP would damage the magnetos, which I don't think it would. Even then, a quick replacement and you're ready to fly. Fuel would be the only concern, which would probably all be used up after 200 years. Maybe a steam driven train?plus i imagine fuel is very short in the waste land, and it would destroy half the game if you can rush past all the mutants etc when you are exploring new places dan-rofl-copteri agree but never the less you cant say that you never wanted to run down a super mutie or two in a truck
Maybe if they could put in a larger chance that Vertibirds (Or some sort of Super Mutant scrap tank) would attack you, and you'd have to shoot them with whatever mounted gun you have. You could also be able to upgrade it with weapons, what type of vehicle it is, and things like that. For instance, you could fix up your small bike with a couple miniguns slapped on it to a big ol' tank with artillery shells and lasers or something, or a custom vertibird with rockets and mini nukes (for bombing). I personally think it would be pretty cool.
