Very quick bios question

If i wipe my hard drive, (re-format it) will my bios erase aswell? Or is it saved onto the motherboard?

im just having some issues with my pc and i want to get rid of all possibilities.

Is it possible for me to wipe that aswell or return it to the first release bios.?

You do not want to wipe your bios or revert to a previous version. Without the bios info your computer won't start and nothing in there is going to mess up your computer. I would not recommend touching the bios at all, just continue with your disk wipe and everything will be gone.

During games my screen will go to a solid color, and my system will not respond. It will make a loud repetative noise and will not stop untill i shut it down myself.

I brought my pc in to tiger direct, and they scanned all hardware and found no issues. They told me that something in the software is not working with other software. They told me to wipe the hard drive, re-install windows, use default drivers then test it. If it doesnt happen then slowly update things.

oh and the problem stopped when they swapped out the hard drive with another one .

That's probably a good idea. I would try that before flashing back. It's pretty rare for a BIOS to cause video crashes like that. Alternatively, you try making a new partition and do a fresh install in that partition as test bed. If it messes up in the fresh install, then try the BIOS, then if it was the BIOS, you won't have lost everything and have to got through the trouble of getting everything installed again.
