How do you view the type of video card a comp has?Rain_Maddness

It kind of depends on what kind of video card you have in your computer. Right now the computer at work that I'm using on my break, I can find out the video card (it's actually onboard video that this computer uses) info by simply:

  1. Going to the Desktop and right clicking on it.
  2. Then I click on the Properties in the pop-up menu.
  3. In the Display Properties window that pops up, click on the Settings tab
  4. About 1/2 way down the window, it shows that I'm using a Plug and Play monitor on Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller

Or you can do this:

  1. Right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and choose Properties on the pop-up menu
  2. Choose the Hardware tab
  3. Next, click on the Device Manager button
  4. Now in the menu window that opens up, look for Display Adapters - click on the expansion + sign
  5. Your video card or graphics controller should be listed once you click on the + expansion sign

There are other methods, but it all depends on what programs you have installed or graphic card you have installed.

If all else fails and you can't figure it out, you can download and install (free program) PCWizard 2008. Run the program and it'll gather all your computer information/hardware/specs and post a general listing on the main window that opens up.
