No matter what version of vista 64 bit i get, its not gonna change performance at all right? I just decided on vista basic 64 bit, because i dont really care about the visual that you get in premium, and all i will be doing on this computer is games and internet (I have a laptop for my working computer). I wont lose any performance with only having vista 64 bit basic right?

It'll cause more memory usage but for the most part performance shouldn't be hindered. For what reason do you need 64bit though?

Main difference is the features available between each edition (Media Centre, Dreamscene, etc.) - so I wouldn't say that you will gain a performance boost if you got Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate.
