I believe, Control panel > Security center > Other security settings > User account control to OFF. I think that is it.ch5richards
Correct, and I might add, it works great.
so its safe to do that?
Also, how do I get firefox to copy paste in Vista? I tried what it said at mozilla's website, and it worked on my dad's xp computer, but not on mine. Is is vista related? What do I do?

you can, but you have to do something. It's not working for me, but worked when I did it on an xp machineSorry you guys, what I posted allows you to check (and turn it back on) the status of the UAC. To turn it off Control Panel > User Accounts > Turn user account control on or off.
It has been a while sense I did this, sorry, LOL.
as for your copy/paste question, use ctrl+c and ctrl+v, but if you must use the mouse, try copy and pasting somthing and the error message will bring you to the tutorial.Bobbomadic121I did that, but the thing isn't working, so I'm guessing its a vista thing, since it worked for me in xp.
And turning of the UAC is safe, right?

Copy and paste works for me, just not in this forum. (Firefox & Vista 64bit)
And I don't know how safe it is to turn the UAC off. I would assume it would be as safe as XP sense XP doesn't have it?????
IT is safe to have UAC disabled. I have had it disabled for months.
Also what do you mean when you copy and paste with the mouse?
all i did was press f1 and that brings up vista help menu. in search bar at top, type in turn off UAC, and it will give you a page telling youstep-by-step how to do it. very easy.
