Do you already have an HDTV? If you do, what I'm suggestingis that you get the thing you don't have. If you don't have one, get the tv then. It'll pay off in the long run, especially where any new game consoles are involved. In my circumstances though, I'm ready for the PS3.

Go with the set then. Price is not that bad. And playing games on that set is going to be great.

id prefer a samsung, they're about as good as it gets for lcd at that price range, for me the CR is too low and samsungs have a 5ms response, which is important for lcd's.

These off brand LCD's are gaining ground really fast and offer a solid gaming experience on a budget.  The thing will be not looking at the BRAVIA XBR series, or the LNS-95D and LNS-96D series at the stores...they will make you feel sad :(.

I've actually heard pretty good things about Vizio(especially their customer service). Just remember that you get what you pay for. Obviously you're not going to be getting a top of the line Sharp or Sony with a newer, lesser know brand like Vizio.

They have the sharp 37 inch on sale at costco right now for $999.  The vizio 32 inch there is $699, vizio 37-inch is $899.  I say go for the sharp if you got the funds.
