I remeber for example around BF2s time period the 7600GT was considered to be pretty good and ppl claimed to run bf2 on MAX settings, ect... Okay now I have an 8600GT which is faster than the 7600GT in terms of DDR3 ectt.. but when I play bf2142 I cant max that game(settings) without giving up some vital FPS, and only on 1024 by 768. I can only put two settings on high with AA on 2x before I get some bad FPS in some servers, mainly ones with more players. While from what I herd the 7600GT went to higher res with max settings. Anyways why is it that the 7600GT was able to max BF2 but my Overclocked 8600GT cant max bf2142 without giving up vital FPS? The rest of my specs are below.

I highly doubt a 7600GT could max BF2 but I do remember my 7900GT maxing it. Also an 8600GT isn't that great of a card so it doesn't suprise me that it doesn't max BF2142 which is newer than BF2.

I just figered if A decent card from the 7 series cood run bf2 at max acording to some ppl , i thought that a decent 8 series card could max it with no problems. But i guess im wrong, and I still get how ppl say they run the bf games on max with my card when I cant.

BF2 recommended a 6800 which a 7600 outperforms so Marine is probably right.

Boy I thought when I had the 7600gt and then whent to a 8600gt I thought I was getting a great card at that time and now I find out it isn't that good after all boy.

Well this makes me feel better by going off and getting another card and this time I made sure it was a good no great card and it is the 8800gt superclocked 512mb card and wow what a difference that has made. Love it.

I don't know if I would call a 8600gt a decent 8 series card, its over a year old now. With so many different options at the 8800 level it is hard to call the 8600gt a gamers video card. Even an 8800gs at only $100 would have been a huge increase over the 8600gt

You are comparing an older card running an older game to a newer card running a newer game? That's apples to organges if I've ever heard it. Might want to roll to the 9600GT. That is an excellent card for the price and I guarantee you that it will MAX BF2142.

I don't know... it might. My 7900 gs can max it out with 2xaa with a constant 60 fps... so I guess it could be possible if you lower AA and resolution.

I used to have a 7600GT and it could run it at max settings @ 1440x1900 with about 50FPS's!
