Warhammer Online: Serious PvP MMORPG or Lame distraction from WoW?

I honestly can't tell how good this game is going to be. The graphics look fine. The PvP sounds excellent. Why do I keep hearing that it is going to be horrible?

Some people are claiming it is going to be a laggy POS, others claim it will wun just fine with the right system.

Some say that noone actually does world PvP like the developers intended, while others say that these massive RvR battles are excellent and blow WoW PvP out of the water (not that its saying much).

I am also hearing that the PvE is awful, but when I read about the PvE it sounds fine to me.

Has anyone actually played the beta? I would really like to hear your opinion. I really want this game to be awsome becuase the classes are truly amazing and it looks (to me) that it is going to be really balanced PvP system unlike WoW is.

Basically, is this game another trashy MMORPG that tries to contend with WoW and fails, or is it actually going to be FUN?

I have high hopes for WAR, although AoC has taken the spot, currently, as most anticipated and enjoyed new MMO, so it might kind of overshadow WAR when it's finally released.

I do think that WAR will be a very interesting MMO, the people saying it's going to be horrible are simply fanboys of other MMOs that don't want to lose potential gank victims to a new game, specifically it's people who play WoW that say WAR isn't going to be worth the try. I'll bet anything that they WILL try the game out when it's released though.

I will definitely try it out when it's finally released. It'll give me something to enjoy until Diablo 3 comes out. :)

I wouldnt look forward to War's Massive PVP untill we see it in action.What if they are failures like AoC Seige??

very true some friendly competition is only good for us. I for one have preorderd the CE and am looking forward to the release of this game, that being said I don't expect it to be revolutionary by any means. I still believe however the game will be enjoyable and will probably be worthwhile playing if you are looking for a more PVP orientated fantasy based MMO.

No and I have been playing WoW for four years. It is still fun (and I take WoW arena seriously, its not balanced at all) but its lost all of its new and excitingness to me, probably even when WoTLK comes out I will feel the same way.

If it has Daoc rvr style pvp it will be a blast. Hopefully the jerks from Mythic are doing it right this time, they killed Daoc by ignoring the susbscribers and doing things their own way.vfibsux

If it's centered around PvPing then it's a "no go" for me. I would much rather play World of Warcraft where you can switch from being a heavy PvP'er or a heavy quester, or raider.

Yes, there will be alot, but I think that there will be plenty of great PvE. I've seen quite a few videos of PvE and it looks fine.

I actually like what they are doing for PVE....Public quests seem really cool...Also I like the idea that I can make a character and simply charge right into RvR

Think of it this way: in the beta for AOC, people said it was "good and bad" and look what happened there.

People are now saying the same thing about WAR. Yea...

It's not WoW 2.0 just because it is fantasy based means it is not a replica of another game, infact they have very little in common in regards to gameplay even if the visuals are similar.

And in regards to people commenting about public quests, they should be great there will be no more "walk into an area to see someone killing wolves and saying", 'hey are you doing this quest _________' and getting the response "yes but I only have 3 more to kill so piss off", it will be you walk into an area the tomb tells you there is a public quest you jump right in and start doing the quest together. It is a really great Idea to integrate teamwork into the pve questing

I don't mean it like that. I mean everyone who currently plays WoW will eventually quit WoW in favor of WAR making it the second biggest MMO to ever grace the PC ie WoW 2.0
