Awesome deal. It's amazing how fast tech evolves. My 7600GT is like the low mainstream now... snappers

im not sure u guys are recommending me the 8600gt, x1950pro, and the 2600xt. the 2600xt sounds like the 2nd best card, and the x1950pro is the best card out of the three?

None of the above.

Grab the Foxconn 7900GS, which has been heavily overclocked. Should easily perform on par with an X1950Pro, but it runs cooler and consumes less power than the X1950Pro. :)

Not to mention it's significantly better than any DX10 cards in it's price range.

Yeah. Foxconn is the OEM for many manufacturers, including eVGA and XFX. They even make PS3s and Wiis, along with many other products.

That's at 1600x1200, with all the settings maxed.

You're looking at guides on GameSpot? What a joke.

Just because the HD2600XT outperforms the 7900GS in one game makes it a better value? Hell no.

Get the 7900GS, you don't even need to overclock it.. the Foxconn one is already heavily overclocked.

A third party cooler for a video card? No need unless you're having temperature problems or want to do extreme overclocking.

They're recording those videos with FRAPS. It lowers your FPS dramatically when recording.
