Just wondering what are some good single player RPG's I should check out. Dont care when it was made, but I wanna try out some older or newer RPG's to see what I've been missing. So tell me whats good :)
Well I'l assume that you've checked out the elder scrolls series and if you haven't DO IT lol. The knights of the old republic 1 and 2 are pretty good games too. The witcher is definetly worth a look and I also think you should download Mount And Blade, poor graphics sure but the gameplay is fantastic.
The witcher,planescape torment and arcanum maybe morrowind aswell since it can last you a very long time,not oblivion though thats terrible in comparison.
From what I remember Arcanum got some pretty good reviews when it came out (the equivalent of 9/10 from IGN, GameSpy and PC Gamer), although I did find it a bit hard to get into. It's fairly old though, so you might have some trouble finding it in stores.
i wanted to be the first to say the witcher. anyway, yes GET IT. it is the only rpg i have ever enjoyed. not that i have played many, but im telling you, its awesome. long games are generally a no no for me, because my attention span isnt great, but it is compelling, and instantly playable, with a smashing plot, great acting and a mature theme.
I did like Mass Effect however the reason why i did not write it down is... It did hardly work for me at all, that would be no problem if you got some kind of help from the devs / support but sadly you dont. Had to go back with the game to the store (yes it was that unplayable). However if you dont have any problems at all with Mass Effect you should get it because when i did play (even for a few min) it was great :)

The Witcher got boring and I stopped playing it. Combat system is like MMORPG-status except you can't even choose your class... it was boring like grinding away at little mobs in WoW. Unacceptable imho for a single player game.

Are you going to answer his question or whin about why you don't like The Wicther? (he didn't ask whats your thoughts on the game were anyway) Some of my favorites rpgs are Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Oblivion GOTY and The Wicther EE.
Morrowind GOTY Edition should keep you occupied for a long while. If you don't like that, there's also Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate II, and Fallout 1 & 2.
