What do i have to do to upgrade my processor?

Besides physically installing the hardware, what else do I have to do? I am going from an amd 3200+ to a 4200+ dual core.

Well, you do know you're going to have to clean off old thermal paste and re-apply new stuff, I hope.

Apart from that, you shouldn't have to do anything - flashing your BIOS to the latest version (before-hand) might be a good idea.

yea i knew about the paste lol, but thanks..do do i flash the bios? I read online how to update them but it said id need a floppy drive but i dont have one...

Some motherboard manufactuers offer in-system BIOS updates. I know Gigabyte has a utility called @BIOS, and I'm pretty sure some other boards have something like that as well.Â
