I have to give credit where credit is due. No one at Blizzard thought they'd be making four expansions for WoW so to still be able to create content and deliver it to their fans is pretty unbelievable. Personally, I thought WoW lost its charm after the Burning Crusade and only played off and on again until WotLK when I finally quit.

The Pandarens are awesome so seeing them finally get added to the game sounds awesome. But then there's the part where it's WoW and I've already had enough of it.

I never knew it was a bad thing for a company to try and get you to stay with it. "Blatant attempt to get people to shell out cash..."

???????????

So is advertising.

If anything, I commend Blizzard for making their game last this long, with as many players as they have. It's incredible. Deserving of a video game HoF induction.

Someone look me in the eye and tell me it's totally easy to please millions of gamers and expand upon and improve a game repeatedly for 6 years.

You can't because we're on the internet. So I win :P

The community no longer plays in the living breathing world that much so unless Mists of Pandaria fixes this the game will be dead to me after the 1st month. Seriously what is the point of an mmorpg if it becomes basically just a dungeon crawler and that is what WOW kind of is now. People don't even have to level by questing.

DeViLzzz
The world never was so alive, because most of the players are in the world, not on PvP or PvE, everybody is questing.

Completely ridiculous SaintJimmmy
Ur post? yep, I agree too.
I dont like it. Seems totally lazy to just rip off East Asian culture instead of thinking of a new type of culture for a race. Also it only feels like 5 minutes ago the last Xpak was released. Kotick is really milking this game since he got his hands on it.bonafidetk
Who's ripping? You do know that Pandas have been part of the WoW lore since the beginning right?

[QUOTE="Advid-Gamer"][QUOTE="Cordliss"]

I've played WoW on and off since the beginning of Vanilla, I enjoyed the time I spent with the game but with the new expansion on the horizon I have no drive to continue subbing once our guild kills Deathwing. I don't care what anyone says about the pandaren lore, it was never detailed or fleshed out and a complete joke for a majority of the community and people treated it as such. Having one hero npc in Warcraft 3 doesn't constitute an entire thought out lore and there is a reason you never saw them again afterward because they were not taken seriously by the developers or players and were there just for kicks.

Of all the years I read the official forums and followed the metagame on wowhead, thottbot, mmo champion etc. never once did I ever see people petitioning, asking, begging or demanding the pandarens to make an appearance in an expansion. The fact that they are making a full expansion dedicated to them just proves to me that they were out of ideas and needed something ridiculous and cute to try and appeal to a completely different audience instead of their original playerbase which they have already started moving away from. This expansion is really just another reason on top of many others that have driven myself, and my fellow guildies from continuing. Just look at the pokemon like minigame they are putting in, its a complete ripoff and a blatant attempt to keep people that are already addicted paying for their cash cow.

Changing the talent point system again? why? it works just fine and no matter how much you change it there will always be a cookie cutter spec that will always be dominating and superior to all others. Really the only thing that I like about it is the monk class, but if the pandarens are the only ones using it...then what is the point? I feel Blizzard has completely dropped the ball with WoW even before this expansion. The soul of the game has long since been eroded and forgotten and replaced with endless addictive daily quests, reputation and epic purple grinds that do nothing to improve the game but instead are created to keep you playing and paying for as long as they can.

GummiRaccoon

Prefect way to sum it up. I have quit wow many times over the years, everytime I leveled a character I swore it would be my last. Gear him got to halt just like everyone else unless I dedicated my life to raiding. I just cant due that because of work and real life. So in the end found myself leveling my 7th toon.............out of just plain addiction or habit. i finially deleted all my characters and deleted the game. It just wasnt healthy for me even though I could stop playing and live in the real life, but doining something over and over when it is not fun anymore just because you are used to it is insanity. Wow in the end was not fun at all, leveling was not fun, gearing was annoying after the 15th time, yet it was all for dps meter bragging rights or something. I hope wow dies because i think it is designed to keep people paying reguardless of if it is fun or not, not the mention the horrible species of people it has formed as a player base.

It's blizzards fault that you can't manage your time properly? It's blizzards fault that you played a game you didn't find fun?

There will always be the little defenders like you, that didnt even read my post just blindly defend. I said I could manage my time, hence the fact I dont raid because it just takes to damn much time. Read before you blindly bash someone or dont bother quoting me. I used to find the game fun I have been playing for years, the game has turned into nothing but a time sink to keep subs. I get sick of having to explain myself in layman's terms on these forums

True if your are heals or tank, but there is a annoying wait for dps even at low level. Faster to just quest, but that is not even fun in the smallest way.

You're trying to act cool and funny, but the joke's on you, because it's that good, as good as Kung Fu Panda looked, the gameplay footage was similar AKA awesome.

Only thing that interests me is the Monk class. Other than that Blizzard is really stretching it with the lore here.

I would much have preferred an "Emerald Dream" expansion.

This expansion feels a bit too insignificant somehow.

I appreciate that they are not introducing any new mega bad guy to replace Illidan/Arthas/Deathwing, but it really just leaves an impression of an expansion pack without real focus in my eyes.

I find it an odd choice to focus the whole expansion around pandas. I don't feel like this race fits with the game's atmosphere even though they do exist in the lore. It pushes the game a little too far out of the traditional fantasy setting. The monk class sounds boring to me.

I haven't played since WotLK but I loved the game. This is the first time an expansion doesn't interest me.

It's sort of been happening for a while now. As far as playable races, Classic brought cow people (Warcraft 3 really), Burning Crusade brought goat people and Cataclysm brought wolf people. Now MoP brings panda people. They have been adding animal-human hybrids to the game for a long time. It's not out of the ordinary. Wrath didn't add new playable races but did add walrus people in Northrend. I'm sure there are more examples. These are just the ones I could think of now. I'm definitely not a huge fan animal people, but it has been going on for a while now.

I wasn't really referring to the human-animal hybrid aspect of them, but just how far outside the traditional fantasy aesthetic they are.

In terms of the playable races, Tauren are basically minotaurs and Worgen are werewolves. Pandas haven't been used this way before and they aren't normally thought of as powerful creatures. They seem very out of place and have a Disney character look to them. I realize that there are npcs similar to this, but they play minor roles in the game.

Actually wow is easier than it ever was. leveling 1-60 and getting epiced out took so much more time during vanilla than it takes going 1-85 now and getting all the purps.

In vanilla I was part of a raiding guild that raided 7 days a week, I was considered casual when I attended 3 of those raids. Now most of the hardcore guilds that raid raid 2-3 days a week.

I am now in a guild that only has 1 raid day a week. Most raids are puggable now when in vanilla that was basically impossible.

Now that I have basically seen it all except a few raids I can say there really is not much to do. And yes the only point of the little gear upgrades is so people can play there dps meters and then spam them to the guild like a badge of honor. 7 days a week raiding? Not many friends growing up?

How about instead of talking about how wow is such a hardcore grind (which it isn't anymore wow is now a casual players paradise) you just tell the truth and say "I've been playing this game for 6 years and I am tired of it now"

Your hyperbole is so over the top it is to the point of just lying.

LOL dont know why I even bother to reply to you. Over the years, yes over the last 2 years, 2 years is YEARS............ 7th toon out of just plain addiction does not = hardcore. What are U trying to say? Are you trying to discredit me somehow? I have hundreds of hrs in wow, I think I have played enough to have a hefty opinion about it. Hardcore how? The game is very easy, just designed for everything to take forever to keep subs which was my original point. I only played so long because I had some real life friends from work and we used to compete, and i think that was the only reason the game was ever fun for me.

All I know is I have played enough to have a very vaild opinion on the game, sorry but the golden "vanilla" days are long gone and no longer apply to the wow discussion, so me only playing wrath and cata is all that is needed, since we are talking about wow TODAY not 7 years ago. At this point you are seem to be posting only to troll me. Forum rules and regulations are keeping me from telling me where to stick it.

Advid-Gamer

I am not trolling you, you are making baseless statements. You got addicted so now you hate the game. Those of us who can play games without letting it ruin our lives do just fine.

It really looks terrible to me....just my opinion.

I just don't understand the panda thing and this does not make me want to play WoW in any way.

I was pretty sure I was done with WoW...now I know I am.

What do you think based off of what you have seen?

BSC14
I think its great they keep adding new lands, characters and talents into the game, a expansion like Cataclysm takes a lot longer then Pandoria but it adds enough to keep the game interesting even after 7years.

[QUOTE="vfibsux"][QUOTE="DanielDust"] Obviously my posting of a Kung-Fu Panda photo got to you...... I did not try to be cool and funny, the photo did it all for me.

[QUOTE="vfibsux"]

This would be the perfect box art.....

FelipeInside

Maybe Kung Fu Panda ripped the idea off WoW....? ever thought of that....?

Did I say they ripped it off? You WoW boys are a serious bunch! Warcraft is serious business!!

So cause you posted the photo and I just said that WoW had Pandas before the movie, that AUTOMATICALLY makes me a "WoW boy"??? Okkkkkkayyyyy,,,

There u go making assumptions again, I never said it ruined my life, I said I leveled so many toons out of addiction because all other toons come to a halt if you do not raid, which I dont because I have a real life and cant set 4 hrs a night 3 times a week, I will raid if i have the time and one is going on. You at this point are making baseless accusations. I dont hate the game, I had fun with it for what it is, but now I feel the game no longer is progressing, I came in at wrath so maybe it hasnt been for along time, you act like I am so hardcore and ruined my life because off all the toons i have, I am leveling a shammy right now, I still play from time to time and am already level 40 and have not even tried to really get him up there, you see there is leveling gear now, if you are in a guild and have honored rep with them what u get from them + the heirloom venders make leveling even faster then blizz already made it. Btw I played alot, but was never addicted where it affected me, I have always maintained my full time job I have have for 7 years as a supervisor, keep my gf happy and have friends to go out on weekends with. Basically get off my back. All my statements are My real life experience with the game, many people in my guilds are saying the same thing I am, people are gettion over wow, it has run it course. In the end you can raid, run za/zg or farm oh and dailies everyone loves those, runnning same crap everyday over and over and over..............15 month. Go work for blizz they need pr people like u

Again with the lying then, I am just going off of what you say. You clearly do not know what any of the words you use mean.

Addiction as in I had no other games to play at the time. so what do I do level another toon. I dont need to explain my life to you, but my gf works 4 hrs later then me, so for those 4 hrs, I play games and if I have nothing else I play wow, stop grasping for straws. All I can say is you are lucky u are hiding behind a keyboard

WOW, with so many games you couldn't find another one?

No need for threats, keep it civilized cause you run the danger of getting modded.

I have been playing WoW on and off since Cata came out (not a very long time, indeed). There's just something about WoW that irks me but yet I've been curious about it.

I have to admit that when I saw the "Mist of Pandaria" announcement trailer, I wasn't that impressed, it made me think that they're just releasing a new expansion so they don't lose any more players. But it did catch my attention when they announced a pet battle system and the new talent system also got me curious. I can't say I won't try it, but I can't say I will either.

I am a bit skeptical about the whole panda thing but I guess it's not SO bad either.

I do, I guess the assumption here is that I only play wow, just today, I played alittle wow, had to do headless horseman on my toons took 10 min, I am playing darksouls, have over 65 hrs in that game, gears3, play mp from time to time and am in the middle of beating it on insane, also almost done with the witcher2 on dark mode. games these days for some reason are making me lose interest after a hr of so, so I play something else and then go back to it.

Happens to me too.... and it never used to happen for example 10 years ago.

Back then I would start a game and finish it. Now I have like 6 games installed at the moment and swap between them.

It has to do with choice....there are so many to choose from that one swaps constantly...

Then you do not know what addiction means. You cannot be addicted to something if it is not negatively affecting your life in some way. It is not my fault you are not using words with the proper meaning.
