What do you want the next TOTAL WAR game to be?

i would love to see a rome 2 or something in China.

i also am super interested in WWI, so that could be cool.

What do you guys think?

WW 2 maybe even something ancient, during stone age or something (I'm mostly thinking TBS here, never cared about the battles in TW games, strictly the map and everything related to it), but they will probably remake Rome since it's the only game they have that needs an updateDanielDust

Not Rome 2. I hope they don't make Rome 2. My social life would instantly die when Rome 2 comes out, and I would completely stop playing other games.

Victoria: Total War.

1840-1900

Fascinating era. You could have the European expansion into India and Africa and that'd give you the Afghan Wars, the Cawnpore rebellion, the Sikh Rebellion, the Burmese War, the Zulu Wars, the Boer Wars, the French Foreign Legion in N. Africa, Abyssinia Khartoum, etc.

The Americas would give you the American Civil War, the expansion west with the US cavalry vs. the Apache, Sioux, Navaho, war with Mexico etc. Possible war between Canada and the US, Spanish American War in Cuba and Puerto Rico and all the little wars in S. America that took place.

Asia would have the Boxer and Nanking rebellions, Sino-Japanese war, etc.

It could be awesome if they could pull off a proper AI.

Rome would be nice, but I love the scale of Empire, so I kinda hope they do a late era Medieval 3 with Africa, North&South America, China, Europe, etc. There would be a ton of interesting battles.

I honestly don't care if it's historically correct; I just want to conquer the world.

I didn't like ranged combat in Empire and Napoleon as much as I thought I would, so I have to say Rome 2 or China. Rome was a really fun game, part of Romanresergencestarted by the Gladiator movie in 2000. It was fun being able to play the general and beat back the barbarian horde. A graphics update with better multiplayer would be nice. I like the idea of China too though, because not many games take place in that area let alone more historical ones.

Medieval Total War 3 would be awesome, especially if there were more than just one single-player campaign.

Medieval 3 Total War would be nice. Total War is at its best when there are still swords and arrows on the battlefield in my opinion. I don't think a World War 1 Total War would work simply because the type of warfare and battles seen in the classical to Samurai eras of history simplely arent there, and it would be very difficult to make the game enjoyable without sacrificing what made World War 1 the war that it was. In my opinion modern warfare has no place in Total War. Brean24

agree

i wouldnt exactly call WWI modern warfare but understand what you mean. battles in WWI were so weird because tactics hadnt really cought up to technology. (tanks and planes and whatnot) and all of that tech was so new and untested, so there were a lot of aspects left over from that post napoleonic era. idk, if anybody was to tackle WWI, it should be the total war guys.

with that said, i would still LOVE to see Rome 2

I want them to go WWI or WWII...or go completely out of the box and go into Space and do something futuristic.

I have a feeling it will be Rome 2. Although i'd like the 19th century, pick up where Napoleon left off and finishing in 1914.

... They were battles that their gameplay could never mimic because their gameplay is based upon large formations clashing with one another.. Empire Total War only worked because during that era they used line formations still.. This would not work with WWI (first of all that would be a horrible one seeing as it was a trench warfare of attrition) or the second..
