I'm strange and I've been wanting a decent modern RTS game because World In Conflict, while having a good campaign, was really poor in the MP aspect of things. If I could have a Total War or maybe even a proper Company of Heroes game set in the modern times, I'd probably die from my parents murdering me because I got kicked out of school.

Medieval 2 didn't age at all, it's still on par with anything released these days, 99.9% they won't consider a new Medieval in the next 6-10 years.

True. Damn game still looks marvelous. I wouldn't mind a Rome 2, but Medieval 3..mmmm I can dream. :)

Total War : System Wars But seriously, I would love a Rome Total War 2. Except I prefer they do some of the factions more justice and detail coz the work the modders did put theirs to utter shame.

Maybe Relic will be able sometime in the future (since their engine is fit to represent this theme, but it's not fit for a huge scale), CA would make a pathetic Total War game out of WH 40K.

The only future I could see they would do would be future SPACE battles.. Homeworld esque.. Seeing as they have navel battles in their past 3 games in which a space game could operate similarly.. Outside of that I want them to keep to their historical ones like Rome.. SImply because no one else does it.

That is Warhammer Fantasy. Warhammer 40k is the futuristic one which would actually work very well with the Total War gameplay **** There are very large battles and there is often large melee fights. Then there is the grand strategy map that would just be the galaxy

The first game that comes to mind is Medival 3.

But, I don't think that's gonna happen, so I voted Rome 2 on the list.

WWI just wouldn't work as a Total War game... a lot of battles in WWI were trench warfare, and most units didn't go in formations then.. and there weren't any castle sieges.
Without that, Total War games would be like every other strategy ot there...

Rome, no question. Easily the most interesting period in Western history IMO. I couldn't get into the original Rome TW, because it was so dated when I picked it up, but if they release a new one I would definitely buy it.

WW2 would be awesome but A WW1 game would be cool 2. I think its time for something brand new and for the Greatness that total war has achieved I think they can pull of the best total war game yet. Total war needs to be introduced to the Modern Era not even WW1 and WW2 but this century. theirs no games out there that can pull that off like total war could and it would be great and the best of the total war franchise. Total war could achieve greatness In this era just as the Roman era and medieval eras with swords and arrows but now with tanks and machine guns, mortars, jets, destroyers, aircraft carriers. Medievil 2 total war ! facing the mongols is one of the most challenging thing i have ever face in gaming, i would love to face them again. i do remember the barbarian invasion so my body is ready to face them again in rome total war!

Rome 2, or something even older -- stone age, maybe? Imagine how much of a roaring success it would be, if a strategy game featuring the freakin' Stone Age actually came into being and succeeded in every respect.

I like my title "Super Total War Smash Bros." better :P It'd be a RTS/fighting game hybrid that featured game characters from all 3 consoles, on a 2d battlefield with thousands of units! But seriously I don't think a WW2 or anything post would work to well no matter how awesome that would be. I would imagine they would have to change it alot and it wouldn't really be total war, but then again Im all for that. I would love a Modern RTS that would be kinda like Sup. I think it's time for The Creative Assembly to try something new in the series. I'd love to play a Total War game based on A Song of Ice and Fire books.
