Specs are helpful too...

I have a question(was gonna make a topic about it but since you brought it up, I'll ask here),I have a 8800gts 320mb video card, and e6600, and 4GB of ram. So should I be able to run stalker at max settings? I'm currently playing the game at 1024x768 with most things at around med-high settings and still get a lot of lag.
your pc's pretty good but not the best around. so it wouldn't be surprising if that's about as good as it gets for you. stalker's system requirements are pretty steep...
Thanks, I was a little shocked when I saw that I was only getting 30fps or lower with the settings I mentioned and having played crysis with almost all very high(xp very high)settings and getting around 30fps. Still fun and I'm not a complete graphicsjunkie so it's okay.
well, stalker's system requirements are pretty steep, but not as steep as crysis, as far as i know. i have stalker but decided against getting crysis because my rig couldn't handle crysis at anything but low/medium. i run stalker at low too, but stalker's low looks far better than crysis' low. i have a d2.8, 8600gt, 1gb ram, so it's far worse than your rig, and i run stalker at low, 12x10, with decent framerate. so maybe you should be able to run stalker at max, especially at 10x8...
Definitely not normal for him to be getting that kind of performance. I run the game at about what he's running it at (about fifty-fifty mix of medium and high settings if I remember correctly) on the specs in my sig, and my framerate's fine throughout (occasional stutters, but that's it).
Yeah, i didnt think it was normal either. He should be pulling much higher fps then that.
