I still have the damn thing, still works, just has to output to and outboard monitor lol. Anyone want a Penryn P8400 or MXM 3.0 9800M GS lol? I was just already in such a crappy mood when it happened, and it took a punch already (which bent in the panel and casing but still worked). It was a minute or so later I went to town on it after getting super hyper pissed off.

I've only had the rage experience with driving games, specifically Colin Macrae Rally 05, and trackmania nations forever. Rally 05 did my head in!

I was new to gaming when I played Rally 05 and I could not control that car for love or money! In the end I threw the disc in the bin after a prolonged swearing session. Childish I know...

Trackmania nations is actually a fantastic (free!) game which I highly recommend, but crashing on the final bend when you're in gold medal position, or simply taking a corner too fast and flying off the track was immensely frustrating.

neillh
Gold medal? wait what? lol, I take it you weren't serious about online, that is hundreds of times more frustrating, you go way beyond medals there, you even break designer track records and still fail against Germans :/

There have been few that I've bailed on.

world of warcraft due to the grind happy player base. All I wanted to do was check out the raid dungeons once. I don't want to run the heroic mode 5 man dungeons 5 trillion times or stand around in town spamming LFG ... durrr .... LFG .... yawn ..... LFG ..... duhhh .,..

There was some Indiana Jones game a few years back on the PC that required you to make a series of pixel perfect jumps while being chased by a tank.

Crysis ended up in the trash. On a computer build of parts designed and assembled years after the game came outwith a 64-bit OS while running the fully patched game in 64 bit mode with graphics on medium it still slowed to a crawl at the end.

Psychonauts, Beyond Good & Evil, and Simpsons Hit & Run for having a highly frustrating and difficult ending even though it was huge amounts of fun getting there. Maybe I'll give them another try.

I just rage quit Bad Company 2 and immediately uninstalled it.

I've been playing the game all year, but since the patch was released I've been getting really horrible lag problems. I'm so sick of the wobbly, vomit-inducing lurching effect when I'm running, how my aim/movement immediately lag-freezes whenever I get hit, how the game suddenly drops down to 3 frames per second when I get close to an enemy.....I could go on. Does a 140ms ping really deserve this?

Anyway, after the umpteenth time of dying because my aim froze in place, I Ctrl-Alt-Del'ed the damned thing, right clicked it and selected "Delete Local Content." It felt good.

Otogi: Myth of Demons for the XBOX. God it drove me nuts. If I recall correctly, there was this one level in the game, where I had to kill and impossibly fast and powerful boss, while my life was draining. :/

A really bad game of Zombd on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I was the starting zombie and everyone was camping up top with Dragunovs, M60s and Mines. So after 40 or so attempted tries (and 2 guys joining my team), I rage quit.

Has to be Day of Defeat Source. I really liked the game when I first got it and had many many weeks of enjoyment. As of late, whenever I try and play it, I usually end up with something along the lines of a .15 KDR and it's just not fun to take it that badly. Something about that game, though. On a bad day, you feel like every time you pick up a rifle, you're going to get jumped by a guy with an SMG. Then when you get yourself an assault weapon, you round the corner and some guy jumps out and goes commando on you with a Kar 98k at point blank range. You just can't win :P

I've got a love/hate thing going with team games. I despise FFA and love the idea of working together as a unit... but sadly, most games just don't work out that way. Whenever I start to get mad in a war game specifically, it's not because of anything my opponents do. I get mad because my team isn't doing their jobs. Before you start calling me self-centred, you've probably had these same thoughts go through your mind whenever you're stuck capping a territory, the rest of your team is nowhere to be found (certainly not defending any of the other points either) and the entire enemy team shows up to catch you in the act.

So.. I'm not sure if I have a real anger/rage problem, but there have been a few games over my lengthy gaming career that have made me exit or even ctrl-alt-del the game in a fit of rage.. sometimes immediately uninstalling the game, throwing controllers, swearing and spitting on the monitor, and yelling for up to an hour afterwards :P

What games have made you "Rage Quit," and/or uninstall them in a fit of righteous indignation or just plain psychotic anger?

These are the ones that I can remember-

MLB 2k9 (game is rigged like almost all 2k sports games)- rage quit and permanent uninstall

NBA 2k9/2k10 (same)- Rage Quit and permanent uninstall

Lego Star Wars- The Complete Saga- Rage Quit (Hoth Battle is ridiculous.. and I was really tired when trying to play it)

Call of Duty- World at War- Rage Quit. There was some level when guys kept throwing grenades at me and I couldn't get away in time no matter what I did. Plus there were snipers in tress that I didn't see :-P

Star Wars- The Force Unleashed- Rage Quit. Just a crappy port job, and the many issues in the game (especially pre-patch) made me furious. That combined with the fact that the game sucks compared to the Jedi Knight series did it in for me.

hartsickdiscipl

Indigo Prophecy (calmly quit and uninstall), Scarface (Securom wouldn't let me even play the game so I uninstalled), King Kong (Starforce wouldn't let em play it so I uninstalled). The funny thing is I was able to finish Resident Evil 4 which I believe to be the worst game I have ever played.

I did rage quit allot while playing Street Fighter IV on hard mode specially vs Zangerf.

But my all time best rage quit while playing Metal Gear solid one on the PSone, when Snake hesitated to shoot Metal Gear Rex and and Gray Fox got stomped by Metal Gear Rex.... my reaction was slamming my PS with the heavy vibration controller well the ps managed to stay alive but the controller didn't.

Heroes of Newerth, played it for months and finally snapped after dealing with the immature cesspool for so long.

WoW, I don't grind and finding out I need to spend like 50 runs to gear up to see all the content is stupid.

Mount & Blade: Warband Multi, typically I can hold my own on a game but that is just like taking it with no lube even after playing for a few weeks.

Gothic 3, patched all the way and it somehow still stutters.

League of Legends, unlike HoN it didn't have a bad community but instead had people who are so bad it makes the game unfun because it becomes a gamble to see which team gets the more morons in a game that is already really forgiving.

Played Spore for about 4 hours straight through the space stage, and was about to finish a war with another empire. I was just bombing their last few colonies when BAM the game crashes. Nothing saved and I uninstalled that game forever.

In Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance in an online match I was playing a 2v2 and me and my ally we're dominating. Our opponents were complete noobs and I was just finishing up a few experimentals to finish the battle when I hear "strategic launch detected" and see that my ally has fired a nuke. I think nothing of it, and zoom out to watch the destruction. After a few seconds I notice that the nuke has a very strange trajectory, and that it is heading right for my base. I frantically moved my commander and units out of the way but it was too late, the nuke landed right next to my commander and I lost. This got me so upset to the point where I never wanted to play any video game ever again.

TLDR: Ally in SUPCOM nuked me causing me to quit all video games for a period of time.

I think all of us if we were being truthful, counter-strike 1.6 and Source made all of us want to throw our monitors against the wall. My personal head-bangers (in my era) were Hacker, Prince Of Persia, Duke Nukum (Yes, it's spelled correctly, I'm talking the original), Wolfenstien 3D, and Leisure Suit Larry (try figuring this game out at age eight, lol.

I used to have a dell keyboard that could take astounding amounts of abuse, so i got into the habit of slamming it with my fists when I was pissed off in games.

the most enraging game I have ever played - Trackmania Nations Forever - I installed on my laptop, since it would actually run.

One time, when I was really pissed off after ALMOST getting a medal, I slammed my fists onto the laptop keyboard out of habit - several keys went flying, I managed to re attach them but a couple are still a bit loose since two of the four clips that hold them in place broke.

More recently My dell Keyboard died and I got a new logitech wireless keyboard. I was playing MW 2, got really angry, down come the fists... kaboom, keys go flying everywhere. Lucikly they all re attached really easily, but one key i never did find, so i am without the top right key on my numpad as a result of my raging.

I rage quit games regularly, but have never rage-uninstalled. All of the Call of Duty games online and most racing games have caused me to rage quit a lot, Starcraft 2 a couple times, and that usually lead to rage-posting about this or that stupid tactic.

I'm surprised to see so many people saying BC 2, it takes so many hits to die in that game that I never rage-quited. I usually quit because of lag or time constraints.

hahahahahahahahaha, ahhhhh man That made me laugh pretty hard i almost cried, Yes I understand you my friend because that happened to me quite a few times, +1 for making me remember the agony you feel when you see the missile coming at your base and the commander just walks sloooooowly, when he should be running with his metal ass away from the base.

LoL, if you play this game you know why. Dropped below top 100 in rankings (solo 5 v 5) due to bad players in game or picking awful set ups. It's not really a rage quit as you lose more ELO however it is a rage afk and refusing to play with them... so the same thing basically.

Just Cause 1. I actually had finished the main game but for some stupid reason (probably the OCD completionist in me), I wanted to take all the villages, bases, etc. At one point I got so frustrated with the sheer number of them and the rediculous difficulty of some of them that I immediately quit out and uninstalled immediately. I'm told JC2 is better, but I cant bring myself to buy it since I'm still pissed off at the JC1 mess.

Have to admit I got kind of frustrated in the beginning, but the thing is you really need to just calm down at times because you can always learn from defeats. Every tactic has it's counter and as long as you scout beforehand you can never be surprised by one of those cheap tactics.

Did he have an excuse as to why he did it? Was he drunk?

He said nothing until i was dead, and once your dead you can no longer chat. When I died he told the other players that I had accidentally nuked myself. This made me rage really hard.
