^ I agree. Crap like that should definitely be illegal. It's a shame so many people agree to this kind of bs.

how do people think they will be able to get the rights from all the publishers to unlock the games from Steam, and who will volunteer to stay there and do that when the company is shut down? No one. It won't happen.

1. They don't need the rights, they sell licenses to games just like retail does, if they ever decided to go in a completely offline direction they could cut ties and unlock everyone's games with no ramifications
2. Who would unlock them? The people who don't want to go to jail, now you say that everyone at Valve would love to go to jail but I'm on the other side that says incarceration isn't a favorite of anyone at Valve and they'd pay people to make the patches needed to unlock the games.
1. You are making stuff up without any knowledge of the facts. 2. Not so, else all failed MMO games would have class action lawsuits against them. It's in the Eula that your service may be terminated which you agree to before using it.Crap like that should definitely be illegal. It's a shame so many people agree to this kind of bs.

You should be the president of Steam/EA/Activision/Capcom/Square Enix/Rockstar... all of them :)
Out of all the companies that provide DD service, I would seriously not be surprised if EA would just give their customers the middle finger and screw them over.
Well that blows... I've spended more than 650$ on my Steam account, and 220$ on my Origin account and now I can lose everything if they fail... Money in the trash...How am I gonna buy games now? If I buy physical I will be doomed because in a few years digital will be mainstream, but if I buy digital I take the risk of one day losing all my games (actually that even goes for physical) THAT SUCKS! Videogame industry is failing IMO!
Steam owns like 50% of the digital market they ain't going anywhere :P unless some alien hackers manage to destroy the servers and everyones games :o
I say we need to quit worrying about the what it's in life. You could get killed in an auto accident tomorrow. Paranoia is what keeps life from being enjoyable. If your that freaking worried then by hard copies and move on with your life. Everything that is ran by government or a corporation has rules and regulations. Welcome to reality my friends. I play PC games to escape this kind of crap!slabber44
Well if Digital Distributors go out of buisness, you won't have any PC games to escape to. :p
