Kilobytes : is how you measure a 1/10 of a MB so 100KB/S = 1/10 of 1 MEG : 1,000KB/S = 1 MB is the average Premium Service of KB/S in upload domain In Canada and also several place in usa like more then half of the usa people don't get more then that 1MB/S upload : but they can get from 3MB/S to 30MB/S Download for The Average Paying for Service's after that it go in heavy price

Canada is in the top 5 Worst MB/S per dollar for both upload / download we are so overtaxing this stuff it a gold mine for service of internet like Bell Canada / Telus / roger A&T / Videotron and that all because the Current Law allow them to tax that high on it but some measure are trying to be done so that it become more Fair so that we can have a Great Internet Speed Like most of American which is 20MB/S+

for the price we pay : i mean we pay from 49.99$ to 74,99$CAD Expect in FEW BIG CITY and we get from 7MB/S to 16MB/S big max and that with not them respecting the 16MB/S band with = they give you 9MB/S for 75% of the time : Example : Bell Canada Sympatico MAX Internet speed 16MB/S ok

my Friend as done a Speed Test more then 10 Time from over All Pyramid in north america what result it give ? 9,400KBS to 11,000KB/S of 16MB/S Pretty Bad eh ? he called bell And they don't give him more speed they even denied of a problem with the Internet connection

Because if you look the price of 30MB/s of Roger A&T It cost you an arm : and if you want 50Mb/S it cost you and leg : 130$:? CAD Per month and that not a Duo / Trio / Combo Deal that does include ur TV and telephone...

And here in quebec It cost around that 130$ Per month to get all : Internet Extreme High speed 10MB/S 900 KB/S Upload + Cable telephone + HD Illico 8)

For what id pay i should have at last 25MB/S if you compare to other nation but we don't specially form a such low population we are from a province to another it like Stealing unlike you The United State are 300 Million so it could be normal to see some place having bad Internet and slowdown from a overloaded server :

anyway this won't lead to anything it just a Economy fact.

I sort of made out what you said, and yes speedtests do them in the actual numbers. In kilobits as in, 1024 kilobits (kb/s) = 1 mb/s (megabit) Same applies to megabytes and kilobytes.

How can I get these insane numbers that you guys get? Not fair! Also Fios is only available in Manhatten and Brooklyn so that aint an optionm either. [QUOTE="SgtMoreless"]

oh like i said several net broadband can't offer what they say and thus is called illegal representation thus is illegal in Canada not in USA tough not on the same level it up to them if they make the server able to respect there Internet like if they say they give you 35MB/S and end up only giving you 30MB/S for 90% of the time it a fake representation as Bell Canada Sympatico & There Sympatico Total Internet MAX 16MB/S you get usally 9MB/s to 11MB/S in any speedtest done from any hour of the day

There some that respect there engagement more but in the end you have less Download Bandwith such as 20GB Download per month to 70GB Combined = You can have 70GB Of combined upload / download to 100GB Combined Download from Other Internet Brand

but what i know of Roger In canada if they say you have 7MB/S from roger Canada : they give you 6,760KBS to 7MB/S in there speed test and you get what you pay for unlike some place i know that i have few friend in usa who have like 9MB/S they do speedtest in there own state on speedtest what they get ? some 7MB/S to 5MB/S depend of day

as for my Videotron Extreme High Speed go as this test show it

for a 10MB/S download / 900KB/S upload and it cost lot i hope they change it to 16MB/S or 20MB/S soon but that all up to CRTC to make it happen

Can't tell more i don't know much more but either way you should look up if it ethernet cable and you'r missing Up to 2MB/S+ of what they suposse to give you that not good stuff

You Americans are so lucky, in the UK most internet not near a huge city has the standard capped 444kb upload, probably 90% of us are like that, sucks. Download is ok though, got 7000kb download, 400kb upload.

I'm in a sort of similar situation... $60/month for 512kbs.... =/ Of course if I lived about 2km east of here I could get 30mb/s for that price.

Edit: Oh, and I play WoW on my connection, it works flawlessly. Most games will work perfectly fine on a 512k connection, but there are a few that don't (from personal experience, Crysis MP is laggy, but Bad Company 2 works just fine in 32 player matches).

I've noticed a lot of the business connections being insane like that - some of the Comcast guys hover around 8-10ms to Speedtest. We've got regular Comcast at this new place, something like 30/7 powerboosted with every channel in existence and two DVR's (and TELEPHONE :o). It's not as bad as I expected, but we'll see how this goes.

La Puente, CA. Just moved here a little over a month ago, when the owner told me FIOS was available, I got a big smile. I'm only on the mid-level plan of 25/25, they have a 35/35 or 50/20.

And the ping is great, with an SSD hardrive and this, when I click on a link, it completely loads the page in less than a second most of the time.

The upload is gimped, decent download is actually half of what you see 10mb/s, but websurfing is speedboosted.

I have like .5mb/s download and .25 upload. It's fine for playing games online and using internet. There's a feature where I can download something when Xbox ison standby, so I can download a 1.5GB demo overnight.brandontwb

Wait, overnight?

I can download a 4 gig file in an hour and a a alf with my speed, 1.5 GB is like, 15 minutes

That's because of speedburst, in reality you will only download 10 mb/s on a sustained file.
