I have played Deus Ex..why else would I list it? That's what I'm trying to say.
Why has this misunderstanding lasted so long! Let me try and explain:
You tell him that he's wrong to think Gears of War and etc are the best games he's ever played because they aren't the best games ever made.
Note the distinction between best game ever played and best game ever made. There have been better games made than Gears of War and the others he mentioned, but if he hasn't played them, he can't mention them amongst the best games he's ever played, can he?
For example, if I've only played Dark Messiah and Big Rigs - if those are the only games I've ever played, then one of those two games is inherently the best game I've ever played by virtue of them being the only games I've ever played.
The people who replied to you were objecting to the fact that you criticised his choices, but unless you know every game he's ever played, how can you judge? He may have only played five PC games, in which case he may be well within his rights to legitimately state that those three games are the best he's ever played.
Now, if you don't understand the above, you're either a very incompetent troll or you;re just incompetent.
