What is the best long running MMORPG to jump into cold?

I havent' played an MMORPG in years. Probably the last one I tried was WoW at the beginning. I never liked to jump into these games except at launch because it was just more fun knowing that all of us were newbs and trying to explore the new game. I'm considering the new Star Trek MMORPG, but if my MMORPG trigger-finger is starting to twitch a little bit, what would you recommend as a good MMORPG to get into right now considering the already established veteran community? An MMORPG that is still fun for a newb to the game with all the uber-level people running around?

While this might sound silly its very true. Everyone wants to scam you, everyone wants to kill you. Dont even trust your corp 100% unless you know the people irl.

WoW is still a great MMO, even for new players imo. Play WoW then try The Old Republic whenever it comes out.
