what is the best os for gaming vista 32?

varies on tastes really
many prefer XP due to its easier interface and better game compatibility. if your gmaing 64 bit xp on MCE (media center edition) are best
vista-32 bit is fine and danady and directx 10 is a+ but its so hard to work with in comparison to XP on a finite level and its not backwards compatible with lots of older titles that are quite popular (C&C RA2, doom, diablo 2, everquest, morrowind, quakes 1-3, all the total war games wont run (omit revoultion and medival 2) are prime examples) andthe OS is processor heavy so having a tri or quad core is almost a staple to manage the same preformance from XP on a C2D.
64-bit make alot of these already present vista-32 bit problems worse and add some hardware compatibility to the mix but offers a more workable system. so my conclusion is this:
if u have the money for an $850- $1000+ gaming rigvista is for you as all your parts are new and u can handle its flaws
if u have a rig in mind under this price tag XP will be much more suited to your tastes.

eh vista 32 bit will be fine (post 9800)
Vista Premium 64. Been running it well over a year now, and have had no real issues with it. It has ran every game I have tried on it. If you have 4GB or more RAM defiantly get 64-bit.ch5richardsI'm same as this guy in this question of which OS, 64-bit vista user for few months now, been on vista 32-bit before but switched to 4gb ram n 64-bit, will never go back to 32-bit, 64-bit is more than stable, drivers fine.

Uh no, 32 bit can only use 4 gigs of memory, including the video card's vmem, so he'd probably only be able to use 3 gigs of his ram.
2 tests i performed were:
1) playing lotro, listening to music, got few foldrs open and trying to open internet and folders was painful on 2gb ram + 32-bit. Now with 4gb and 64-bit, i can do all this very quickly with no slowdown.
2) ever exited a game on 32-bit and found it rather sluggish for a minute?, seems with 64-bit n 4gb ram it quickly exits my game, and i can be on internet etc.. within seconds all nice n fast.
I would say overall performance on 4gb + 64bit is better, 32-bit + 4gb is wasting paid for ram as its limited as youve said.

all those games u mention run perfectly fine for me 64bit vista. The only game I have had a problem with is the bioshock demo yet the full game works just fine.
Would there be any point in me upgrading to 64bit? I'm getting another 2gb of ram soon and a new C2D + I have a DX10 card (9600GT) and gaming is a bit not good since I got vista. Hmm? Hm? Yeah.sm3llyd3c
It's only right to upgrade to 64-bit if you have 4gb+ ram because using 32-bit which would take into account ur video ram and other devices, you would only have maybe 2.7gb to 3.2gb "usable." Making that extra 800-1.3gb ram installed but not utilised a waste.
64-Bit uses all of your 4gb ram. Your video ram and other devices dont come into it then, so your system uses all your 4gb = better overall performance, getting what you pay for, and you could even have a 2gb video card with no sacrifice to system ram usability.
