What is the best PC game ever made?

I don't care if it's on one of the consoles(like Left 4 Dead). What is the best PC game ever made? IMO it's Portal my favorite game ever.

The PC is known for Crysis, so i will give it some credit.

But it is just a standard shooter.

I would say the best PC game is Stalker: SoC. Or maybe like an older rainbow 6 game. Like raven shield.

There is no defined "best game ever made".

There are so many incredibly huge milestones available to be played on PC that defining one above the others is simply impossible.

Only counting all the contenders for the title would take a lot of time.

For me it would have to be Counterstrike. It's still fun to this day.

I just called troll because Crysis isnt anywhere close to being the best PC game. Best graphics, yes.

But the gameplay is average and the story is cut and paste.

If you truly think that it is the best game then fine. I withdraw my past statement.

Why did some servers kick/ban bunny hoppers? It looked stupid and was really lame part of the game, especially Dolphin divers.

Don't know about the Commander and his UAV???

Commander had the following:

UAV - lasted a short while hovering over and showing the enemy your current location, when UAV died, it charged up again and was able to deploy another.
Scan - sweeps over the map giving a burst of intel of hostile locations, good for when the last guy went to go and hide somewhere so the game couldn't finish. Vehicle Drop
Supply Drop
And was able to spot targets - that was annoying, "Enemy Hostiles spotted" repeated 20 million times.Anarchist-TKC-1

Both MW and HL2 are linear and they guide your hand trough the game, so it leaves more room for polish sure. Crysis on the other hand is a more create yourself experience. it gives you the right tools and based on your skills and imagination you can have insane amount of fun with it, or just roll trough it like any other shooter. That's why i like it more, for me that makes a great game.GeneralShowzer

There's so many games to choose from, but I'll go with Serious Sam: The First Encounter.

I'm going to say Doom. It is one of if not the most important PC game ever made and therefore the best.

Very difficult for sure, but some of my absolute favorites are Jedi Outcast, Morrowind, Bioshock, Deus Ex, The Sims, Rome Total War, Battlefield 1942, Company of Heroes, and Hearts of Iron II Doomsday.

To many above, more than one answer to the TC is wrong and will be voided.

Diablo II & it's expansion hasn't been mentioned so I have to say it's worth mentioning.

The best pc game for me is the game I played the longest ever:

Dungeon Keeper 2

I played it as an RTS

I played it ala Sim City (My Dungeons) and just watched it grow

I romped in it ala FPS by entering a monster or worker imp.

I played it nonstop from 1999 until 2009 when I went up to Win 7 64-bit. If DK2 ran in Win 7, I'd still be playing it.
