What is the best PC game to buy?

If you like first-person shooters, I would also recommend the bf series, and call of duty 4 (along with call of duty 2)

If you don't like FPS games, maybe name the types of games you like. Most types have good ones that came out on the PC. Ports or not.

It might also help if you could list the main parts that your computer uses, mainly CPU type and speed, ram speed and amount, and video card interface, type and how much video memory it has.

If you want an RTS. Company of Heroes is the best

If you want realistic FPS, get Battle field 2 if your computer is old school, call of duty 4 if it's got a good video card.

If you are playing catch up, get hitman blood money, Oblivion, and Sims 2 if your into that.

Remember there are two types of gamers, gamers that are in denial and gamers that love every minuite of it.

other than the regular big hitters that get mentioned ..i found stranglehold very fun .. oblivion tho old is cool ..lost planet and gears of war should fillup the entertainment

Lot of old school games out there also..Nexus on steam for 10 bucks...You have baldurs gate series..Nwn 1n2 cant go wrong there..Witcher..Some may tell you hellgate sucks..Ill tell ya what if you have a dx10 card...Its very addicting..

I'd say you should go for Crysis (if you have the PC for it), World in Conflict, Company of Heroes, and when it comes Assassins Creed. all of them very nice

First work out what your computer is so you have some idea what will run on it. Saying XP and probably the best one there is just tells everyone here you are very new to PC's and will be taken for a ride by a shop assistant if you ask them to recommend a game and sell you the most expensive thing you can afford.

What type of game do you want to play? FPS, RPG, RTS, sports, driving/racing, simulation, flying, god games, real time or turn based, strategy or button mashing

Do you want online multiplayer or happy with just single player

CoD4/Orange Box/BF2/BF2142/UT3/WiC/Crysis...etc...
