A minor technicality really. A dual-processor setup has two processor sockets, and utilizes more than one physical processor. This sort of setup is not common in the desktop environment and is more suited to workstations and servers. A dual-core processor is a single processor that has two cores on one die.
Now, certain places use tricky terminology - many places that had the Pentium D often marketed it is "dual processor" technology, which is misleading.
