For an HDMI cable for use with a PS3 and an HDTV, what is the maximum length that it should be?

I remember some sort of rule of thumb whereby if the cable is longer than X feet, it will not be top quality.

Thanks for any info.

Depends what and who you listen to

Most will say between 8 and 12 feet while others will say up to 24

I think 25feet is cutting it, And you might need a thicker gauge wire. Though, at 50 feet, even the best cables migh fail and I hear you can buy some equalizer to boost the cable to work at those lengths. I once check and it did not seem to be expensive at monoprice.com.

Try searching AVSForum.com, they probably have answers there.

I've heard as much as 50, if it's that long get a better gauge.

According to this site http://www.abccables.com/info-hdmi-max-length.html, the maximum length is 50 feet, depending on the quality of cable.
