Black dalia (spelling) with dennis hopper in what was that game all about. I Love adventure games that was impossible.
STALKER is the hardest PC game I've ever played, but I did enjoy it. However when I was really making my first play through with it on my desktop I had at the time, STALKER just loved to crash to desktop randomly. I basically learned to hit F6 (quicksave) almost every 30 seconds to make sure I didn't lose any progress to a spontaneous crash.
However Xenosaga Episode 1 takes the cake in my book any game I've ever played. It's brutally difficult and really just punishes you into submission. I did eventually beat it, but in retrospect, probably the biggest and most dissapointing waste of my time ever with a game. AND THE CREATORS ENDED UP MAKING THE XENOSAGA GAMES HAVING ALMOST NOTHING TO DO WITH XENOGEARS. Bunch of jerks. Nothing worse than beating a boss that took you literally dozens of tries, only to have to fight another boss right after meaning absolutely no down time to heal your characters, prepare your party, or catch your breath.
For me I think it was Neverwinter Nights 2, so far. That game is insane, specially at the end even on Easy difficulty level.
I mean fighting 2 dragons at once? And 3 Shadow Reavers later on? Duh...
Killing floor on hardest difficulty doing long 10 wave games (think its called suicide). It is just so hard.... wave 7+ are just insane, if you have this game try playing a long suicide difficulty game, then you will know what hard gaming is :P
Also there are a couple of custom maps that are very hard, one of them is called "fog(insert version here), it is set in the woods with a mansion type building on one side of the map, but the thick fog means you cant see enemies unless they are quite close, even on normal long games this map is a challenge.
Any parts of Crysis Vanilla specifically? I only found the Aircraft difficult because of the goddamn glitches that made you fall through the floor and also made the boss clip in and out. It is as though EA forgot to publish that level entirely.Crysis and Crysis Warhead

Writing an easy topic in correct english, that tops my listRustDove
I'd like to give you credit for trying, it's tough for alot of people.
I vote for any game that has a level I can't complete because it's too hard. It doesn't happen very often but when it does I get very frustrated and angry so to save my sanity (whats left of it) and computer I just quit.
ArmA 2? The original ArmA beat the crap out of it in terms of difficulty. The enemy AI were like GODS.Arma 2... its so worth it though.

This is only half true. You die at the end no matter what (Kill-Screen) but it's virtually the same as beating it. I would agree that it is probably the hardest game every, tho.
Hardest game ever, and actually unbeatable.

The first Myst game.
Ah and there was a game called "Heart of Darkness" too where you played as a boy searching for his dog in a world full of shadow-like beings that ate you. I don't remember if it was really hard or if I was just a n00b back then...
Heart of Darkness was pretty hard. Good game though. The first Myst game.
