Diablo 3, Alpha Protocol. I don't care about Generic Age.

How do you know it's generic if you haven't played it already?
Unless there are demos or betas out.
Um, alpha protocal and diablo 3 for me.
I mean this as no insult to DnD rpgs, but:
NWN 1 = NWN 2 = Baldur's Gate = Icewind Dale = etc, etc.
Its been a long while since your generic-yet-awesome DnD RPG has been innovative. I blame this partly on the gamers: we areq quick to label an experimental action-RPG (or any RPGdeviating from the standard st ory-centric formula)as shallow on the RPG aspect, and too heavy on the twitch factor, yet we readily accept the traditional, yet familiar and predictable, DnD formula.

well, the action rpgs like Mass effect or Oblivion themselves are pretty generic, SO I don't really see how can they make things different. Personally, with the spirit meter NWN2 : MotB played pretty differently[QUOTE="mrbojangles25"][QUOTE="knight0151"]

And by innovative, I mean somethnmg like Homeworld...its still a good ol' RTS, but it added and changed so many things that it pretty much opened the genre wide open and showed us how different things can be.

How does it work?well, homeworld was amazing and lots of people loved it and was (from what I heard) best selling Relic game, but still no 3rd part :( Anyways regarding spirit meter :Without spoiling too much, it is a kind of curse which you need to feed, it adds a sense of urgency in the game and makes the characters problem feel like your own. It's mostly a love hate/feature, hated by most people only loved by me :PAnd by innovative, I mean somethnmg like Homeworld...its still a good ol' RTS, but it added and changed so many things that it pretty much opened the genre wide open and showed us how different things can be.
