Well, me and my friend have gotten sick and tired of WoW, and we're basically looking for the games next in line. We've looked around a bit, and we can't seem to find a good fun game to jump in, and have a good time, as well as get dedicated to. So guys, any suggestions?

Well if you start at the top you can only be disappointed from there. I would say guild wars or lotro.

Lord of the Rings Online seems to be the new thing.

I *wanted* to try FFXI when I was starting to get bored with WoW (picked up again after BC though, hehe) but you better hope like hell you never need any support, it's utterly worthless.

I'm gonna go out on a limb though and recommend some "oldies" (lol) but goodies: Anarchy Online (cheap now!) or City of Heroes.

Lord of the Rings Online is a lot of fun and has more of a story then WoW to me. I just picked up guild wars and that seems decent so far. The only others I have played are Final Fantasy XI to old and interface sux. And Vanguard which i didn't even finish my first 30 days cuz it was broken

Only downside to lotro would be the PvP... mainly because there is none at least when I was playing (I quit playing MMOs about a year ago, but I broke down for lotro and now Im off for good). The PvP is based on the hope that new players will make monster characters, but that usually doesnt happen because you also have to level monster characters to get good stats. So its usually pretty unbalanced and theres hardely any player monsters. I would suggest that if you are competitive, don't get this game because people won't even duel you. Its PvE is excellent though. Fighting monsters was never more fun (beating up goblins and what not). Minstrels suck, but are pretty much needed in every group. Not to mention they are rather unfun to play as because their spells are low damage and DoT spells last about 2secs.
