What is this bulldozer I keep hearing about?

Topic. I hear it all over this board, and have no clue as to what it is or does.

Bulldozer is AMD's long awaited new generation of CPU's.

They will bring 8 core CPU's to the ordinary consumer market.

It's suppose to compete with Sandy Bridge I think.

People get hanged up to much on the 8 core thing without really understanding it's architecture.

Bulldozer can have 80 cores for all I care, The important thing is performance and price and both seem to be around Sandybridge's 2600K.

That's like saying hyperthreading is excessive.

It is something everyone should watch out for, especially those consumers who are wanting an upgrade. That being said i can't wait to see what Ivy Bridge will offer, Intel never seem to disappoint me.
