what is ur Favorite Counter Strike ?

a lot of people say Cs 1.3 is better than CS:source and Vice Versa !

what is ur choice and why ??

but 1.6 is the same as 1.3 or 1.4

1.6 is different than 1.4/3, 1.6 has 2 extra guns, the cheap assault rifles famas and galil.

Differences between 1.6/Condition Zero and source

-Source has the best graphics, CZ has better graphics than 1.6, 1.6 has the worst graphics

-Source has a 64 player max, CZ and 1.6 is only 32 players

-There are havok objects on Source

-Unequipped guns and grenades appear on your model in Source

-Source has a very easy custom spray option

-1.6 and CZ has the riot shield

-1.6 has in game advertising, CZ and source are ad free

-Blood appears on the player model in source

-When you buy guns in source you instantly get full ammunition

-In CZ and Source when you die you drop your grenades

-Source has a more detailed radar

-Source has dynamic pricing on your weapons (server can have it on or off)

-When you crouch in source your head often sticks out

-CZ has 2 extra player models

i played 1.6 when it came out after 1.5 and the hype around the game got so big no gamer could ignore it. I never liked it that much mainly because it was SO anti-newbies. it took about 60 hrs of gameplay to get anywhere near anythning that could be called good, and it owned my computer for some reason. Crappy graphics but required a monster to run properly...i was not impressed.

CS:S was much nicer to newbies and you didn't have to be completly lifeless to play it. It had pretty high system requirments when it was new but the Source engine nowdays is a very optimised engine making the very best out of even relativly simple hardware.

Long story short, CSS for me:)

i use the money cheat in CS:Source !its Sv_cheats 1 !wow what a cheat it always gives u 16 000 $ ??so what its how u play the game not if u use cheats or not !

besides i dnt host games so the only time I use the cheat is wen i play agianst bots when im bored !

1.6 all the way! CS:S is a completely different game I don't think they should be compared. 1.6 is lame in a few ways, like the new models, larger hitboxes, awp delay, resource hog etc. but there have been numerous improvements to the game and going back to 1.5 / 1.3 / 1.1 isn't an option. And in 1.6 you can do like this :P

I also own the old WON edition of Half-Life, therefore I can't register it to steam. If I re-buy Half-Life on steam, I'd probably give the old CS a try.

Counter Strike is a game that requires very smooth game-play...To play source u need a monster PC ...It needs like 100frames per second to run good...I'm going hard on 1.6 for like 2 years and in the near future i think I'm going into some competitions to see what I've learned.Source has of course better graphics and effects but 1.6 is so well balanced and it eats few resources that makes the best candidate available on the scene.Let source get older and computers get better maybe then will 1.6 be stripped of it's crown!!

Meh who needs physics in a shooter like CS, the ragdolls can't compare to good death animations. All the litter on the maps hardly speed up the game.

In CS:S you can't even shoot through walls, that's enough for me not to like the game.

-the WON half life can work on steam

-Source does not need a monster PC to run, I can run source with my intergrated nvidia 6150 graphics chip, 1 GB of ram and a P4 processor. A family computer should have these specs.

-good death animations? Yeah, real good, floating in the air or clipping into walls. Ragdolls are better in every possible way

-The litter makes the game more fun, crouch behine it for some protection, make a blockade inthe doorway, etc

That was fixed a few months ago. I remember cause it really annoyed me every since source came out.

ive only played 1.6 and source. they kinda do have similar gameplay. although source is so much better in visuals and graphics. which makes me want to play source more.

About 2 years ago i had a S*** pc that couldn't handle cs:source and wasto crap to play. i preferred 1.6 back then. But since upgrading my pc. i could run source at a framerate of 80-100 using fraps. it was heaps rewarding moving from 1.6 to source because its just looks better. Although i do miss some maps from 1.6 like inferno and train. but those maps turned out to be S*** on source, no one ever plays them. (Aus servers).

1.3 was the best. You guys forget about bunny hopping. Source is too SLOW.

The flash bangs in source are ridiculous. There is no way to avoid their effects. It takes away from gameplay.

What I hate about CS is the AWP. Its just to easy to use. They need to make the zoom circle smaller or something.

Well for gameplay 1.6, but for graphics Source. THe only things I hate about Source is the huge headbox, and there are not enough maps ported from 1.6.

i must say 1.6 maps were alot better too. Thats why i miss 1.6. i pretty much only play 3 maps on source. dust2, office and assault.
