What is Windows live???

What's this window's live people are talking about? Yes i do have a couple games one which apparently supports it ( Crysis ) but i have no idea what it is, or the "achievements" im hearing about.

Games for Windows - LIVE is effectively Xbox LIVE for some PC games, including achievements which serve as rewards for meeting certain criteria within a game. (Completing a game on the hardest difficulty, for example). Most achievements have a numerical value attached, which goes towards your overall "Gamerscore".

Crysis however, is simply a Games for Windows title, which is just like any other game, but meets certain specifications set by Microsoft for it to be branded a "Games for Windows" game, such as Xbox 360 controller support.

Whatever it is, it makes me sick that in some games its mandatory to install **** like that on my pc.

Like that other person said crysis is just games for windows. Games for windows live is like xbox live. If you have a gamertag you can log in with it and use the same profile you use for xbox 360. You also have to use the games for windows live to get dlc for the games which is really annoying because you have to buy microsoft points and it is nonsense cheese flop penguin

Which is why I don't use Windows Live for Fallout 3. Betheseda games are far better with mods. I couldn't care less about achievements. I wish there was an offline option for GTA IV for pc. Maybe there is, but I haven't used it.
