What kind of games could I play on this computers hardware?

I was just wondering how high of setting I could run any game on this computer. It is about $1,000.00. Is that too much for what I'm getting? Is this a good computer? You can get a Core i7 with a high end motherboard for £400 + another more powerful graphics card for about £800 with the other components for another several bucks.

A proper monitor at 24 inch would be ideal.

I threw one together on newegg really quick. Exact same specs, but all name brand (g. skill 1333, asus p8p67 pro, 1tb spinpoint, asus 1080p 24in monitor, OCZ 400w psu, XFX 5870, i5 2400) and it came to $1100 and I just realized I didn't even have a case. So yeah, its a great price. However, i'm all about having every part be from specific companies (I don't know if thats just me or a common thing).
