I played it back then and just tried to play it recently. Now and Even back then it was EXTREMELY BORING.Cracker__Jack
Have you played online?
it all depends on the maps you play... but I'm an hardcore 2k4 player so I kinda agree it's not the same. btw the game came out in 99.
People he is talking about Unreal which came out in 1998, not Unreal Tournament in 1999.
Like Bioshock of today, people loved it because of its graphic and atmosphere. Gameplay be damned. I liked it mainly because of its music which really enhanced the atmosphere.

it was good back then...but now we have UT 2004, and it's a great game.
and if you didnt like it back then, so FPSs are not your style, and dont argue cuz UT presents all FPSs.

Unreal, the single player action game.
The atmosphere was incredible and the vast landscape and the music that you find when you out from the Vortex Riker ship the feeling was outstanding.
Also, the I.A. was very challenging, the weapons was cool and allhas two modes of fire...

That right there was one of the most memorable moments in my 20 years of gaming.
I can agree with the game becoming a tad bit repetitive and too long when you get further in, but for the first 10 hours or so, it was a fantastic game. I also think it was the graphics, music, and overall atmosphere of the game that made it so great.
