Play some real games like World in Conflict or ET:QW instead of some advanced chatprogram, mate ;)

I would suggest one that doesn't stink....but surprisingly nothing comes to mind.

I guess you could always wait for GW2 or Everquest 2. Or you could try Tabula Rasa or Fury. Maybe even try NWN2 Mask of the Betrayer.

EQ2 has been out for like.. forever. They're even starting to sell it bargain bin along with all of the other non-WOW mmos at EB now!

Sadly, if you absolutely want to play an MMO, keep playing WoW. As much as I'm bored with it myself, WoW is king. Back before it came out MMOs weren't very big, and the quality just wasn't very good, it was a very secular thing like D&D. After WoW came and flipped the genre upside down with it's content and, most of all, quality, people started expecting the entire industry to adopt the standard. Sadly this just wasn't the case, since developers are still spewing out the same crap games they did before, only this time they are including some half-baked WoW mechanics in the hopes of attracting attention.

So where does that leave us? Lying in wait for the MMO genre to come to the attention of another game developer that actually has skill, somebody like BioWare, Rockstar, Bungie, or even Nintendo that has a reputation for making quality games, and will actually put some effort into making a game, rather than hammer out a generic architecture and let the players create the content.

Your best hopes right now lie with LotR, since it is basically a WoW clone, and Turbine isn't totally inept at making games, it should satisfy you for at least a few months.

How about City of Heroes? Its relatively cheap, has excellent character creation and nice gameplay.

Plus its a refreshing change of pace from fantasy MMO's

Yeah, I didn't word that right. I was just saying he could wait for GW2 or he could get EQ2 (that's what I should have said in the first place, because that's the message I was trying to get across.)

And yes, LotR the most promising right now from what I've collected on my own assumptions. I haven't really checked out Tabula Rasa or Fury with much detail. I've only seen a few gameplay videos of them.

Tabula Rasa is not very fun. It isn't very good either. I would suggest you try it, you might like it. But playing the beta ruined that for me

It is actually the worst MMORPG I've played. the gameplay really doesnt differ much from:

spam X button

Die

Respawn

repeat

Your completly bored of Wow and its expansion? Your through with LotR? Your sick of Guild Wars? All 3 campaigns and its expansion pack? holy crap, I play video games alot.. but did you just play them like 10 hours a day? Or are you not through alot of them and just sick of them..

Those games as of right now are the most popular MMO's, I'm sure people would admit, and the best quality. Maybe your just bored of MMO's right now, why don't you Pick up Oblivion? Its no MMORPG, but itsa great RPG, and even if you have played it through, try the OOOmod, or MMM mod with a new character. Theres so many mods for that game, and those mods keep it so varied. There should be enough mods to keep you for a while.

Hell gate is coming out soon, I don't know if it'll be any good, but I think its out in one week or just over. If your sick of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Oblivion, maybe try a dif genre.

If that does not work, try going for walk outside, and tie a rope around your WoW game box and drag it along the ground behind you. I hear it likes to go for walks to relieve itself, and girls think its so cute!

I reccomend guild wars. I've been playing it for two years and it's still fun, I've played WoW and just see that guild wars is plainly better

If you're that tired of the MMO's you've played, maybe it's time to move to a different genre. Most MMO's are pretty similar, so I don't think getting a new one is going to be that exciting for you...

I would get EverQuest II. The game is very polished now since the Echoes of Faydwer expansion and they have a new expansion coming up called Rise of Kunark which is an all-in-one compilation. So you buy the expansion for $40 and you get the full game plus the three previous expansions and adventure packs. Great deal and a great game.
