And how does it compare to a regular OEM laser mouse in certain games? I am just curious as the Logitech G3 seems to do alright.

I'm a huge fan of the G5. Fits my hand perfectly, I wouldn't play with anything else if I had the choice.

MX518. It's comfortable, durable, large enough for my hands, and has on-the-fly DPI switching (up to 1800). I highly recommend it if you can find it for around $40.

G5. I love it, but still want to try other ones such as some razers. I have a razer arctosa keyboard and I love it, so I'm confident with a razer mouse.

I have a G5 and wouldn't use anything else but its sort of personal preference and if you already have a laser mouse I don't know that it would be a big improvement. One thing I will say is the G5 has a non-binding cord that makes a difference in games and a handy thumb button thats perfect for throwing grenades or things like that. in games

I use the Razer Lachesis. A generic mouse wouldnt even compare but the G3 is in the ballpark.

Logitech G9, fast as hell and the interchangeable grips are cool. I have really small hands for a guy so its size is a huge plus for me as well.

i have a g9. a little pricey but i picked it up on amazon for 50 so it wasnt that bad. it is seriously customizable. tons of options even down to the color of the leds, pointless but cool. interchangeable grips are a plus for different size hands.

I use the G5, best mouse Ive had in a long time (I went through a good 6-7 kinda a few years ago, before I fell in love with the G5, I need a wired mouse, and the mouse itself is insanely precise...

I use this little furry thing that goes "squeek!" every now and then. It's really cute.

Nah, I'm still using my old MS LaserMouse 6000 v1.0. The finish has worn off, but it still works well.

Agreed. It's my favorite mouse so far. Once you have the hyper-scrolling wheel plain ol' scroll wheels just don't hack it anymore.

Is there anyway to get games to recognise the scroll wheel as a middle mouse button?

Yes. I had to do that for Sacred 2 so I could tilt the camera up and down. From memory so it may not be 100%: In the SetPoint software there is a section under the My Mouse tab where you can change the default functions for all the buttons. Before you change the function though look down to the lower left corner and find the drop box. From there you can browse to the exe file of the game you want. Then go back up, select the scroll wheel, select the "other" option at the bottom of the function list and select middle mouse button. Apply. Now clicking the scroll wheel will act as a middle mouse button in the game you chose.

G5 so far is my favorite..its good to hold the mouse and see which one fits your hand the best
