My little brother's computer was "unusable!" as he put it, so my dad bought him a new one, i got to play around with his old one and "fixed" it within 10 minutes. It's a pretty good machine, runs good! not top of the line by any means but still a very nice computer. But now i got it i have no idea what i want to do with it.

I'm curious is there any way i could hook it up to my computer that i have now (through lan?) and get a program that could use it to help my computer process stuff? I dont know if there's any type of program out there that lets your computer send out packets for other processors to crank through or w/e but its like the only thing i can think of that would have that computer be helpful to mine.

I feel that the only parts i could take from that computer for my own would be 1 gb ram? and i dont feel that's worth it. Seeing as all the rest of the parts would be put to waist :-\

any help with it or other segestions would be most appreciated, thank you for your time :)

Be extra classy and use it as a server, back up your files to it, or use it to stream content as a media server.

Buy some 250GB HD and set the PC up on a network and use it for storing files
