I think that max payne's voice wasn't good enough.Strange to see many of you vote for him.herzalotI agree. I thought the people who suggested Max Payne were joking at first, but there's so many of them. The character is an expressionless gruff yet soft voice. Like a bad detective movie. Nothing wrong with that in context and all... but far from a great showcase of acting talent.
James McCaffrey as Max Payne. shalashaska88
Stephen Russell as Anything he's ever done, but particularly Garrett from Thief.HenriH-42
These are winners. And to think Max Payne 3 isn't going to feature James McCaffery...
Add Dominic Armato (Guybrush Threepwood in Monkey Island) and Rolf Saxon (George Stobbart in Broken Sword) and you're set.
nomad in crysis? :P
i think in call of jaurez the brothers are voiced PERFECTLY. down to the last detail, like rays slightly whiney tone.
jpph
I'm going to have to agree with you. The gameplay wasn't as good as the voice acting, but they really hit the spot.
Fallout 1 and 2, Bioshock, Oiriginal Half Life, System Shock 2 boss was spot on creepy.
I actually enjoyed the voice acting from Star Wars Force Unleashed. Uncharted had dialogue and voice acting that surprisingly fit (it was a risky success).
The original Sam and Max game + Full Throttle was great as well.
Once this thread dies, I say open up games for worst acting ever. Somebody needs to take a pot shot at Keither Sutherland from World at War. Nobody deserves a paycheck that big for having a raspy throat voice, unless you are Ron Perlman.
Stephen Russell as Anything he's ever done, but particularly Garrett from Thief.
HenriH-42
my pick too
For me:
The Prince [SANDS OF TIME] -> Just the right mix of arrogance and remorse. The voice actor was really good!
Anyone from Baldur's Gate II -> Even the harlots sound right! I especially like Imoen, her voice actress provides a good vibe of spunkiness.
HK-47 [KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC] -> One word: "Meatbag."
Keifer Sutherland in Call of Duty WAW -> I'm a huge fan of this guy, but you have to agree that his voice acting in the game was topnotch.
[QUOTE="denter21"]It has to be Max Payne. If you think otherwise then chances are you didn't play either Max Payne. Play those games. Go now. Go!NoAssKicker47Played them both, and Max was good, indeed, but too monotonous. Of course it goes hand in hand with his desperation from life and all this crap but damn, he barely raised his voice five times through both games.Intentional; a Film Noir voice-over. James McCaffrey's rendition of a hard boiled cop >> Harrison Ford's Rick Deckard - that was monotonous.
Bioshock,Mass Effect and Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines are the games with the best voice acting ever!
Mass Effect (all of them, especially Anderson), Prince of Persia, Max Payne.
DanielDust
these tree for sure.
I also loved the narrator from Homeworld
And TF2 characters are simply awesome.
Just about EVERY Valve game. Half-Life 2. Eli & Alyx Vance. Magnusson, Kleiner. The Vortigaunts. The list goes on.
Don't forget TF2! The Scout's dialogue just cracks me up everytime; I neeever get bored of listening to him. Amazing voice acting.
Then there's Sarevok & Irenicus from Baldur's Gate.
[QUOTE="zomglolcats"]The Butcher in Diablo 1. "Aaah, fresh meat!" Made me jump the first time I saw him lol.herzalotCome on,even I can say short sentence of FRESH MEAT! by his style! Well I mean its not the most amazing in ALL OF VIDEO GAME HISTORY! but, at the time, it was pretty darned cool!
