I bought this game after reading the gamespot review and was hoping it would be as great as Heroes III. The truth is I still don't know how good the game is, the awful copy protection and the amount of crashes make this game unplayable for me. After a couple more tries I just gave up on this game. Only recently having played King's Bounty: The Legend (which I absolutely Love) I thought I would give it another try. 5 minutes in and yes it crashed again.....
without a doubt. This game was completely unplayable because of inherent complexities and complete lack of anything interesting to do. Its sequel was worse.
I'm not sure what's the worst game I ever played was, but a bad one that comes to mind was Alone in the Dark. The controls were so bad on this game, its gameplay soo annoying that it wasn't more of a game, then an alternative to waterboarding.
I know I'm going to ruffle some nostalgic feathers with this one, but here goes: OUT OF THIS WORLD
This game met my definition of SUCK. I bought it right when it came out, mostly because it was lauded for great graphics and gameplay. I found the graphics to be an eyesore and the gameplay was lame (femmy jumping, slowest walk ever). Even after I found a guide to help me not die every few seconds, I just realized that I didn't care.
..._Pedro_Are you sure you updated it first? because without any updates I wasn't even able to get past the first two missions and it had lots of problems, but after you patch it to the last version it's awesome and I didn't have a single bug or crash. The best Heroes imo (especially Tribes of the East), then comes 4 and then 3, I didn't really like 3 much.
There isn't a game that I regret I bought but if there would be something useless and stupid, Spore Creature Creator would be it. SCC would be a ripoff even at 3$.
Too bad you only got to the second level because Thief 3 has one of the scariest levels in gaming history. You do realize that with a bow you gotta shoot the neck for it to be one shot one kill. As for the baton well I had that same issue but it's only minor. As for the combat system, your a theif and your suppose to use stealth to get through the missions. The only time you draw a sword, and should, is a last resort. You got flashbombs and other gadgets to help you get out of situations.
Chronicles of riddick is a FPS. If you barely used a weapon that's your fault. It's unfortunate that you see the game that way cause it was a good stealth action game. Level designs were designed in way for multiple paths to get around guards so it sounds like to me you didn't explore the area.
GRAW is a tactical shooter because it requires you to use your squad to take an objective by tactical means.
It's funny how you say Mafia is overrated when it was clearly underrated. Driving was fine up until the race but the patch fixed that. Combat and gameplay was no different than that of GTA Vice city.
By comparing some of these games to splinter cell, I consider an insult. Splinter cell was boring and reptitive and probably the most linear game in the stealth genre. Sounds to me you cannot maximize the use of your brain or your simply just 'simple minded'
mm worst game ive bought ever has got to be task force 121
aura_enchanted
well apparently it wont let me display it just check it on gamespot and have a bucket ready to throw up, those screens are on maximum res. and the game was released in 05!

ok how i dispatch enemies in thief 3? i tried batton and i got a FAIL
As for Riddick... if this level resembles the "stealth" and the quality of the gameplay
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckHH9vfUrxE
..id like to inform you that i destroyed my old monitor at this point... i just couldnt take the crap the designers throw at me.. honestly this level makes the game look like crap... and about splinter cell.. guess what its better Riddick has thrown a new type of repettion... FAR worse than any other game that proves that the designers not only lack ideas but they lack brains if they thought i wouldn't see thats its the same crap again
As for graw.. honestly every other tactical fps is better plus that its so hard that everyone complains.. everyone... a failed buy..since you cant even complete it... no walktroughts at youtube for example
Vice city was awesome for me and has nothing to do with mafia in mafia you die easily.. meele combat is mediocre if not garbage and the weapons jump into the air whe you shoot... way too ridiculously fake and they are very weak.. i used sniper rifle ant he didnt die after headshot.. or i unloaded a whole pistol at someone at very close range and he didnt die... he killed me immediately with 1 shot from his tommy gun... and my healt was 100.. or that guy in the hotel.. instead of kill him right away with my pistol he was running away when i tired to shot him after our conversation but the weapon didnt fire because he was too close so i was chasing him.. assassin? FAIL..... where are you 47? Ohh and yeah i was talking about the goddam race which sucked by the way.. in gta they never force you to do an extremely hard driving mission without even allow you to screw the mission and so something else.. eg have fun killin people :) but no:( bot mafia you will just do what it points you or you never see whats next.....
As yantzee says i think i am the only person that his brain actually WORKS..
Hellboard
Your brain may work, but it must have shut off while the rest of the world was learning how to use ellipsis, because... this... gets... annoying... pretty... quick...
Anyway back on topic the worst game i have ever spent money on would have to be "Oil tycoon" I honestly have no idea what i was thinking when it occured to me that running an oil company would be fun. It was a get 3 for the price of 2 deal though, and I was getting Dawn of War and morrowind (I think) anyway; so i dont feel too bad about it.

i believe you never heard of yantzee.. and you think you said something.. but i didnt understand anything.... its a joke not annoying..That's strange, I haven't had any such problems with HOMM5.I bought this game after reading the gamespot review and was hoping it would be as great as Heroes III. My little brother, who plays it on his laptop, neither. Which makes it all the more annoying as I was the one who payed for it :(
Have you tried updating your DVD drive firmware?I don't know if it's my worst, but this was one of the biggest let downs for me. The game looked so cool! Of course once I played it and released how repetitive and boring it got, I quickly moved on.Turok . What a piece of crap, it doesn't deserve to be a game.

no, far cry 2 and assassins creed's gameplay is somewhat a fun repetitive thing plus they look stunning, but turok was just super boring. The PR for it makes it look unique but really ,you just run around gunning down soldiers and dinosaurs. You don't even have the freedom of combining tactics to kill your opponent. The visuals are also a joke for a 2008 game. Horrible game, steer clear, trust me.
yeah turok was a major letdown, not a contender for worst game ever
worst game ever belongs to one of the following IMHO:
task force 121
warhammer 40k: fire warrior
big rigs: over the road racing
red neck rampage

WHATTT? That game is pure absolute brilliance, unique and amazing
Your problem is that you couldnt play it, thats why you need the guide, and thats why you eventually didnt care. WHen I played I didnt even know games could have a guide walktrhoug etc, but I finished anyway. If you have bothered, you would see the game develops into truly beautiful action scenes and its the first great game with that movie cinematic approach I can remember
Thank you for bringing back great memories about OUT OF THIS WORLD
and shame on you :P

I must agree. I did not read the reviews though. I saw the box at a store and thought it looked amazing. Sadly it was not..

The PC port of Resident Evil 4. Unless someone created a mod or patch, there's no key mapping and the controls are god awful.
SimCity Societies was pretty crappy too.
Not that there is anything really wrong with it, but I'd say The Witcher. Every other PC I've bought I've gotten more out of. Now if we were talking PS2, 360, or Wii games, I'd have a better answer lol, but MOST games i buy on PC i've either played before or tried a demo. I remember picking up Half-Life Platinum Pack at Best Buy on Black Friday for $5 thinking it was going to be a POS (I'd never heard of it before, i wasn't much of a PC gamer back then) and it turned out to be one of my all time favorites.TheCaveRatWorst game ever?! Holy Mother of God... that game was pure brilliance. You're just trying to get a response now, right?
hmmm thief 3... dont look at me like that it was coming alont with hitman contracts ina dvd with one of my old videocards.. id ditnt even play it after the second level... but in the definition of sucks.. i havent played a worse game than Chronicles of Riddick.... i guess i dont think a fps should be stealth.. but what made me think it sucks is the awful gameplay.. the levels especially... too overrated... or GRAW i cant even complete this game... or gothic 3...way too meaningless not even a main story saying..go there..... i cant think which is the worst... i completed only Rddick of those.. however it pissed me far more than any other game... which you guys think is my worst? ok if found out which..mafia most crappy and un-enjoyfull game i ever playedHellboardlol! Just on Thief briefly: No my friend, the game doesn't suck. You're just not used to how to play it. Its completely different from Splinter Cell. You can complete the second mission - the manor one where you have to steal the diamond i take it - without even coming into contact with the guards. You're meant to stick to the shadows. If there was a completely realised combat system then people would miss the point of the game. You're meant to be vulnerable not dodging attacks. This isn't POP. I really hate it when people just say a game "sucks" because they weren't good at it.
Now my turn: Well two of the worst games I own I won in a competition and these are Condemned and Oblivion. I haven't even finished Oblivion because there were so many bugs and problems with it. Condemned was horribly repetitive. I didn't like San Andreas very much. I thought it had a lot of gimmicks and didn't really go anywhere in terms of its narrative. A lot of bugs and control issues. I didn't enjoy FEAR - granted I didn't pay that much for it at least - highly repetitive to the point where it becomes just dull. If that game had average AI no one would care less about it.
