Soon i am getting my new rig and i can chose between Vista Ultimate 64bit sp2 or Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Which one is better for gaming and do all the programs work on it that work on Vista?

Well I believe everything will eventually be Windows 7 so I would go with it... right now not alot of drivers etc. for it but they will be coming. I read that it doesn't use as many resources as vista and runs faster. I am using Vista 64 bit but wont be changing for sometime because of money and Vista is working great for me.

Right now Win 7 is better for gaming since it uses less and manages resources better. Also Vista drivers work with it without any issues. Once you get Win 7 you just can't go back to Vista.

I hear Windows 7, but I'm sticking with XP until I find a way to try it out myself.

7 doesn't hog my RAM and has a surprisingly good compatability with previous software.
