Hmmmm so many to choose from .... right now I'll say FEAR. I might say STALKER but I haven't played it yet. But it looks like whatever it is right now, it will probably be usurped by Cyrsis. Damn that game looks like its gonna be awesome.
If by FPS you mean straight-on FPS, it's gotta be Doom, it pretty much made the PC a viable gaming platform back when it came out, not to mention gave a reason for people to actually LAN their PCs together for some rocket-filled deathmatch glory.
