As far as I know, there's no thermal paste that will actually damage your processor. Maybe if you use something that isn't thermal paste, you could damage it. Anyhow, anything the page I'm listing should do you good. There are adhesives on the page also, don't use those on a processor. Surface cleaners/purifiers are a waste of money - rubbing alcohol fits the job of cleaning.

Arctic Silver 5, I always scrape the junk off that comes on HSF stock. It will help, if you watch temps closely.
Arctic Cooling MX-2 works better then Arctic Silver 5.jakarai
and its non metalic. wont screw your board if you get in on something
A quality Thermal Pad is less messy and won't have to be re-applied every couple months.
The trade-off is like a + 3C to 5C temp change - but who the hell cares abotu +5C if you're still under 50C at load anyway?
Just my 2 cents. Grease is high-maintenence. I'm too laid back to play with grease unless I'm cooking burgers in it :)
Re-applied every couple of months? The stuff doesn't even reach max efficiency for over a month.A quality Thermal Pad is less messy and won't have to be re-applied every couple months.
