my 4870x2 (2GB and OCed to 790/975) is also getting a 7.1, I believe the system doesn't look at crossfire performance. also perhaps trent OCed his 4870 to an extreme amount.

I only got it at 790/1050. I think its becuase of the way my computer is set up. instead of some games reading it as 512 mb they read it as 2.2 gigs for some reason. memory shareing i guess...

odd timings.

yeah:

timings

not only that yur frequency is off, could be why your timings are messed up. timings generally suffer when RAM is set higher than its default frequency value. im sure they should be running at 400Mhz(800Mhz rating). might also try switching your DC mode to unganged i had to do this to make mine run 1066.

their ram frequence could be different because they OCed their CPU to 462 FSB and wanted a 1:1 ratio.

5.9 overall thanks to the rather high expectations for the HDD, everything else is in the low 7's.

Nothing special for either of my computers (well, one is 'special' in a bad way):

Then again, both cost less than $500 and one is doing HTPC duty where size and power consumption are a factor. Can't fault a computer that draws less than 15w under load.

im guessing that would be the case assuming they have an intel CPU. ive never OCed an intel before so i wouldnt know.ive only done AMD and i know unless your pushing for max OC you donthave to change RAM speeds or timings on AMD. they dont usually change themselves either.

A computer with a base score of 6.0 or 7.0 has a faster hard disk, and can support high-end, graphics-intensive experiences, such as multiplayer and 3‑D gaming and recording and playback of HDTV content.Windows
I don't know why they'd wanna tell us that we have a faster hard disk; but I guess they figured that it was important to do some pretty demanding stuff.

I got 5.8. Which was my hard drive. Weird because I have raptors and they're supposed to be the fastest hard drives.d-rtyboy
The raptors excel in seek times, but the windows experience index only tests the data transfer rate.

SSD's are rated higher primarily for digital media, such as movies. SSD's for games mainly influence loading times (at least for me).

Only a small difference. I got a 500G WD and it's at 5.9 I'm gonna get a 1TB HDD eventually, that should boost up the score...
